You are correct that HT is the problem as System Shock 2 cannot run on dual cpu systems. However, have a look at this thread http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=48709 There is a file called Process Loader which should solve the problem. Also, there are instructions on how to manually set System Shock to only use 1 CPU. Regards Andrew

The best place to ask about this would be : http://www.ttlg.com They have a forum dedicated to System Shock 2. I've tried to have a look but the site is currently down. Regards Andrew

Have you installed the patch ? Perhaps also try to get a No-CD version of the EXE, as it might have something to do with the copy protection on the CD. Regards Andrew
-
Perhaps even consider the 9500 Pro cards. They are quite a bit cheaper than the 9700 cards and should still be faster than the Ti4600. Regards Andrew

That is the only difference on the majority of 8500LE cards. However, on a few cards, such as my Hercules Prophet FDX 8500LE the second RAMDAC is also missing. This means that I cant use 2 CRT monitors at the same time (dual display). I could however use a CRT & TFT combination if required. Regards Andrew

Hitman: Codename 47 , Windows XP help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cb95amc replied to yleclerc's topic in Games
I take it that you have run the configuration utility ? Are you using the original CD ? Hitman2 uses the new SecuRom copy protection which doesn't work if you are trying to run it off a CD-R etc... However some CD drives can also have problems reading copy protected CDs even if they are the original. Have you tried launching it from both your CD-ROM and CD-RW drives ? Try downloading a NO-CD crack for the game and see if that helps. If the NO-CD exe works then you know that your drive(s) may have problems with copy protection systems. Regards Andrew -
Would VMWare be any good for this ? I was thinking of creating a virtual DOS PC and was wondering whether VMWare would emulate a SB card. Regards Andrew

Have I missed something here ? You updated XP with SP1, which basically means you have all the latest patches. Why is it suprising that Windows Update tells you there are no updates for your computer ? You just installed all the updates available. Wait for the next bug to be found - it shouldn't be long knowing Microsoft.

There is a section on the Jam website which deals with the MusicMatch problem. Have a look at the link below. http://www.jamonline.com/products/jamp3_comques.asp Regards Andrew

What do you consider the best computer game ever made?
cb95amc replied to pr-man's topic in Slack Space
System Shock Series (can't choose between the two) Thief Series (can't choose between the two) Deus Ex This one is not a game as such, but MAME has got to be one of the best things ever !! -
Visit http://f4ut.frugalsworld.com and download SP1 for Falcon4 (although by the time you read this SP2 might be released). Not only will these fix your problem with Glide2x.dll but will also greatly improve Falcon4 (SP2 should be awesome). (Don't get SP1 & SP2 for Falcon4 confused with SP1 & SP2 for Windows 2000) BTW - In order to play Falcon4 using SP1 or SP2 you will need a fast CPU. You could also try a version of eFalcon (the predecessor to the SP releases). Regards Andrew

What's the problem. I have managed to get Maddden 2001 working under Windows 2000 (after a lot of effort), so I might be able to help you with it. Regards Andrew

DosFreak, Fortunately Rogue Spear is the only game where I have had to use a crack to get it working. Every other game I have works perfectly in Windows 2000. Regards Andrew

I seemed to have spent most of this last weekend trying to get Rogue Spear to work under Windows 2000 SP2. The problem I was having was that when trying to launch Rogue Spear, the splash screen would appear, but then the game would not load. Even installing the 2.05 patch did not solve the problem. Eventually I managed to get things working. Here's how : (This is the UK version I am using). Installed Rogue Spear (I recommend a Full Installation, as I has some problems when using the compact). Installed the UK 2.05 patch (6.8MB) - Note that I had to download "EaxUnified.exe" and place it in the "redist" folder within the Rogue Spear directory in order for the patch to install properly. Download the NoCD exe from gamecopyworld. The only one that seemed to work was "Rogue Spear v2.05 [uS] No-CD #2" which was 1.5MB. Extract this and copy it to your Rogue Spear directory (you may want to backup your original EXE first), and overwrite the one that is already there. That should be it. Even though it is the US NoCD it works perfectly with my UK installation. Finally, I am able to play RS under Windows 2000 - Hurrah ! Regards Andrew
