I seem to be having a very similar issue with my HD. Although in all operating systems. Not being able to get ATA100 enabled all the way. I got the BIOS reporting PIO 4 fixed to show ATA100. I messed with UDMA auto settings and IDE prefetch and other HD related stuff in my BIOS seemed to fix that. Try those things.

Can you cancle the intergrated Internet Sharing from within Windows and enable some sort of proxy server or something like that? Or am I even picking up what you are trying to do? Hope this helps.

I had problems with it too. You have to work with it. Fiddle with it. After a while I got it to work great on my Win2k Server. Yeah they should hire me and pay me lots of money... Uhhhh... *shoes clacking as HELLBRINGER runs off in distance*

N/P Is it the drivers? Have you tried moving the card to a different PCI slot? Maybe Win2k is a picky b1tch. Hrrmmm... I'm thinking. Let me know on those and I'll let you know if I have any more ideas.

Quote: Its useless right? Cant you delete it in DOS? Also isnt there a way to turn off "Windows File Protection"? Then you could delete the folder I think... I forget how to do it. Maybe you have to have a file or something. Sorry... Don't know if you saw... Can this be disabled? I think that folder may be protected! See if you can disable WFP temporarily and delete the folder then. Try that.

Is the mouse cordless? Bad cable connection? (sounds stupid I know) Or drivers. Does it do it in other Operating systems? Other computers?

Is the CD-ROM on its own IDE port? Is it completely by it self? If it isn't try to get it that way. I just did that now and it seems to have fixed the problem... I think. And no I dont have SP2 installed. I did, but it kept phukin up Windows Explorer and making it have errors so I uninstalled it and that fixed it. I think SP2 has more errors than the beta copy of phukin winxp!!!

Hey man! You got the same CPU overclock as me. Duron 800 @ 1000. I had that error sometimes too in Win2k. But D3D games arent slow for me, at least I dont think so. The error went away after I returned the CPU to normal speed for a day and let Win2k run through with it, and then re-overclocked it back to 1000 everything worked fine.

Does the modem have its own IRQ? Maybe if it is sharing it may get screwed up and disconnect. Thats the only thing I can think of right now. Hope it helps.

Screw BlackICE use ZoneAlarm... It can allow things for server, and you can choose what you want! ZA is great! I suggest you DL it right now. I want to host e-mail on my domain on my server. No relay sh1t can anyone help me with that?
-
That a good idea but I dont know if having 2 firewalls will work. BlackIce is known to have a lot of security holes. And from what I can think of logically, if BlackIce has access to your system, and has security holes that a hacker knows about. Whats to say the hacker cant hack BlackICE and get into yer system while Zone Alarm didnt even see it cause it though BlackICE was taking care of it. Is this possible? Just a theory of mine. If this works way better, then I'll install BlackICE too cause I bought that POS a while back and liked it but got hacked a few times so I said screw it.

You mean like sharing, but security. An unknown user trying to access a secured folder on a network will either be asked for a username or password or access denied error. I'm not sure which, but I don't think they have any rights except the Guest rights.

I recently added 2 new partitions to my hard drive. This is all on my Western Digital 7200RPM ATA100 40GB Partition 0 is my System Drive and is ~3GB Pertition 1 is my Data Drive and is ~25GB (Drive D use to be 32GB until I added new partitions) Partition 2 (NEW) is my Games Drive and is ~8.5GB Partition 3 (NEW) is my Secure Drive and is ~1GB I have noticed ever since I installed my drive I am missing about 7GB!!! It detects my drive as ~33GB drive. It is a 40. This is not an issue but I thought I would mention that if anyone can help me get my full 40GB or close anyway. My problem is, since I added these 2 new partitions that my CD-ROM remains drive E. And my two new partitions are forced after my CD-ROM for drive letters. So I did the following. I removed the CD-ROM from Windows Control Panel and the completely removed the drive and unplugged it completely. Then I used Partition Magic 6 to change Drive F and G (Games and Secure) to drive E and F. And hoping the CD-ROM would go to G. The drives renamed fine, except when Windows booted back up and the CD-ROM installed, it took drive E again and the partitions were kicked back to F and G. How do I get my CD-ROM to go after my partitions? It's not big deal, but it looks stupid having a CD-ROM drive in the middle of all yer other drives. Thank you.

DAMN CD-ROM taking Drive letters from new partitions! Err!
