FireDreamon may or may not be working. When I make a service. Then look at it in the Services in admin tools, the path is to firedeamon.exe file. Is that ok? Will the service still start? What other programs like this are there for Win2k? Anythink appreciated guys. Thanks.

Well is there a way to turn this off?

Hi there. I want my DSL line to automatically login when my system starts up in Windows. So I turned on the save password to do so. It automatically logs in, but the problem is that the password seems to be "duplicated" and typed in twice when I do save password. I don't know why it is doing it. But it is, a 9 character password is then copied and typed in two times making the password incorrect when my DSL tries to log in. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Dial-Up Networking Save Password duplicates characters!

It's still doing this. Does anyone else have this problem? It needs to be fixed, it is throughly annoying. -
Hi there. I have a ADSL line and the internal modem in my server. Running Windows 2000. But everytime I need to log off into another user name the line goes down with the log out. Is there a way... to maybe make the dialup program for my DSL a service? So that it will stay online when I logout? Cause I don't have a static ip (cause I cant afford it) and every time I log out, and sign back on to my DSL line the ip changes. Then I have to update the DNS servers at register.com to reflect my new ip address for my webserver. Help if you can! Please! the_quake_master@hotmail.com ICQ is 51620111 AIM is "Zee HELLBRINGER" website is www.megabytemike.com Thank you in advance!

HELP PLEASE! Trying to make program a service
HELLBRINGER replied to HELLBRINGER's topic in Software
That program appears it will work perfect for what I need! Except I get an error when starting the app. [Title Bar] ISP Features Disabled [Message] Could not find RNAAPP.EXE, necessary for ISP use. [OK button] What is this about? This program was for Win95 right? Well will it work right with Win2k? Are there any programs out there just like this, that work with Win2k? Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. I almost have my problem solved. This program being an EXE I can use my other program FireDeamon to start this program as a service so my DSL can always be on if Win2k is running. I just need to get this this working though. -

What exactly is your problem? I dont know if it is Win2k. It might be drivers, or BIOS. Or VIA drivers... -

Yeah same deal there. Just no GUI. But I need to know if I can run my dialup connection as a service. I cannot find an exe for it. What can I do? -
Can I autologin to Win2k server? Or does the security features prevent that? I took off the CTRL - ALT - DEL requirement in local policies. But cant find anything for auto login like in Wink2 Pro. Can this be done? Can a program be downloaded for it?
-
Ok yeah it does cool thanks guys. See if you can help me on my other problems. I am having lots of them.

Win2k Server. My ICQ GroupWare Server will not start up! I turned off firewall and that still doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas?
-
Ok I went through my system and deleted all the files related to the ICQ server. But that doesnt seem to fix the problem...
-
I'm sure there is something that I could use it for I am unaware of right now or is not an issue right now. I will check it out. Ok... I looked at the event viewer. I don't know if what I am guessing is correct but it seems very close to my problem. Yesterday I did install the ICQ server on my computer just to see how it worked. I then uninstalled it from my system so I could put it on my server since I liked the program. When I put it on the server it would not start a server for some reason like mine would. After looking through the event log. It appears the program on my server is having a conflict with my computer. As if my computer still had the program running on it. But I uninstalled it. I have yet to check my task manager and program folders but I will. This whole thing started because I am looking for a local LAN chat program. Something easy to use and very simple. Like ICQ, or AIM. But only for my network. Like Novell Messeging on Novell networks. If anyone has any prorgams that will work well for what I need let me know. I still have more programs to look through with my search through download.com I do like this ICQ though and it is a good idea. I'd like to see if I can get this to work. Now you know what I am tring to do. Thank you for your help. I hope I can get this all working. Thanks again.
