Where did you get that? How do you use this Messenger Service? That'd be cool. I want it to tell my clients when something is done printing... How do I set this up?

I have 2 domains now. And 1 is a PDC. I am trying to get both of the domains to work together. Heres the setup, Web-Server: Primary Domain Controller FIle-Server: Secondary Domain web-server.megabytemike.com file-server.secondary.megabytemike.com The web-server, is, well a web server, and the file server is a file server. I have user profiles on the file server. And logins setup on both. Yet I am a bit confused. On my computer (mike.megabytemike.com) I can try to login with my username mike@megabytemike.com which I setup... It should take the profile I copied to the file server. But when I try to login I get the error... "Login Failure: The target account name is incorrect." What does this mean? How do I fix it? I am new to the whole domain thing... So if anyone can help out with this I would be veyr happy. Thanks in advance...

Wow, thank you for the copliments everyone. I think I owe the speed to my DSL line. That, and I have built a good server. And no I am not using IIS. I am using OmniPro httpd. It's a free, small little webserver program and works like a charm. Very fast too. That in combination with a DSL line makes it very fast. And I am using PHP scripts... Even the forums are PHP based. My friend wrote the scripts from nothing and we are using them. I realize that there is a small error in the news scripts. That's why you had a problem trying to login. Had it been working properly, it would say unknown username and password, access denied. The forums work great though, you can become a member there if you wish. I am going to fix the news scripts soon... I just got my server back up, and now using ISA, so a few things changed that I need to fix. And this is Windows 2000 Advanced Server running ISA Server (Internet Security and Acceleration Server) Thanks for the compliments guys... I also have an FTP server running. Well I now took the other server down... I don't really need 2. Now I am having other problems. But I think I can figure them out. How come ISA doesnt want me to use port 80? I will anyway... But that is annoying. I am getting proxy chain loop errors now. And no... not really, ISA server isn't an upgrade. It has much more features... It also has proxy though too. I personally like it a lot. And its really sweet when its working right. But when you don't have it configured properly, it can be a pain in the ***.

Never mind. I have figured out that problem. I am still having problems with letting out siders view my website. I am running ISA server now and it is working great. Except my web server does not appear to be seen by others except those in my network. Can anyone help with this?

I cant get FTP and MAIL working through my ISA server. Yet web server and internet access IS working... How do I fix this? I have tried tons of things yet they do nothing.

This didnt really help that much. Can anyone help me first hand here?

I get this stupid *** message windows had an error accessing the registry error or something every damn time it boots. I have to let it restore the registry and it restores defaults again! This is pissing me off cause once I install something it isnt there aynmore except the files. WTF! I think I may have bad memory, and or a damaged hard disk. How do I resolve this?

lol tons of things... i have gone through everything in ISA manager as far as I am concerned... Are there any guides to setting this damn thing up? I mean how come I got the damn web workign? Ugh... I also wanna setup my own mail server after I get mail working...

theres a quantum drive and a fugitsu.... pieces of sh1t... although the problem seemed to fade away now... i formated both drives completely, that may have fixed it. we'll see.

i need to make my network a domain, i have 2 win2k servers and i want to unite them with cluster services, but it says i need a win2k domain, how the hell do i make an nt domain? thanks

ok thanks.... and how the hell does people on my network check mail? Everything connects to the internet except mail... Hotmail and such works, but our isp mail doesnt, and i know it works. For some reason its getting blocked or something... i have tried tons of things and i cant figure out why it wont let us check mail... i know it uses port 25 for smtp and port 110 for pop3... I tried adding those in like I did for the webserver but it didnt help. how do i fix this?

i installed the ISA server, got the proxy working for the most part. How do I set it up so that my client comptuers can check mail through SMTP and POP3? I have been messing around with it but nothing i do seems to help. Can someone please point me in the right direction? thank you

never mind i figured it out lol... can anyone help me with simple ISA server stuff? I'm just learning it now... Ohhh fun! Does it have its own web server? Or do I need to keep IIS if I want a webserver but tell it not to listen on ports...? Thanks! Domains are much cooler than those lame *** workgroups!

Ok here is the situation, maybe you can be of some help. I go to add, delete, or modify files in a folder right. Then say I want to rename the folder, delete it, or what ever. It says I can't do it because of sharing violation. WTF!? Why is it doing this? I have to restart my system to rename it... But I can rename it before I mess with stuff in the folder. Anyone having this problem?

Yes it certainly is a Pain in the ***. I too tried all these things before they even suggested them. I don't know what is wrong. But I will figure it out soon. Win2k, SP2, IE6, Anti-Virus Off

I noticed my website lately gets a bit slower when its in heavy use... (duh... lol) and I know that its just some of the php and database stuff... then html loads fast... how do I make my php stuff and database server use the processor at high priority? because it seems it has to wait... therefor the mainpage on my site (which is php, and has to acceess the database (for news)) loads slow but they rest is already up... how can I do this?

How do I get my MySQL server to run on high priority? That seems to be the problem, I have so much other things running on my server, and the server is not fast enough really. I am upgrading it soon though when I get the money.

No I do not use IIS due to its security problems and such. I do keep an eye on the task manager, not much usage very often. I don't think there is a program backdoor from the worm but there could be. I cannot rid of this red code worm. I tried all the removal utilities and they have failed. But isn't there a way to make the database and PHP files high priority? And I have been meaning to defrag... Wouldn't hurt thanks.

no i already checked those possibilities earlier... i have no virus scanners running, and indexing service is disabled. i have even let it sit days and it still wont let me do it. It does not make sense to me.
