This should help you (i hope) ************************************************************ * 2. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ************************************************************ 1. The system must contain the following Intel products: * Intel® Pentium® III or Pentium® 4 processor * Intel® 82801AA, 82801AB, 82801BA, 82801CAM, or 82801DB controllers 2. The kit software should be installed on systems with at least the minimum system memory required by the operating system. 3. Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition(SE), Windows Millennium Edition(Me), Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP. 4. Installation of the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility prior to loading the Intel® Application Accelerator. Just the requirements ripped from the readme.

Dont think of it as an application accelerator, it seems to be just an IDE driver. I use it with no problem and it definatly works on non-p4 systems as i use it on laptops at work with the 830M chipset. (p3s).
-
Update ESCD should only stay 'enabled' for 1 boot.
-
I just wish i was good enough as the game to be a wizard or a sorcerer guy. In this and in baldurs gate i just end up getting too close to them and getting totally killed. So i always end up being a fighter
-
Also if you then format and install XP, any problems that you did have by installing every OS known to man (ie. none ) will be fixed

Yeah, the stock hs does infact rule And so quiet, interesting to note that the NW stock hs is even smaller than the wilamette 1
-
Firstly i didnt use your name as i posted directly under you so i thought it was pretty obvious. Secondly, all your posts are massive It didnt even cross my mind that other ppl post long replies Anyway this is a bit silly Im sorry i commented on your posts, im going to bed and i want a 20,000 word essay by the morning
-
Yeah its you im talking about. Every post is an essay.

The king of stupidly large posts that i cant be arsed to read returns. And the mcx478 that i have did ship with an 80mm delta, which doesnt really make that much noise unless you swap it round to 'suck' rather than blow (in which case youll think the vacuum cleaner is on). Im running it with an 80mm ystech though and its almost as quiet as the intel stock hs.

Just saw this and thought...hmmmm Authough it wasnt Tom that wrote this i thought it was pretty bad, THG seems to change its allegiance every few months. I remember not long ago when i would have been saying how he could almost have been getting paid my AMD. Now its the other way round and i think he must be on intels books http://www.tomshardware.com/smoke/02q3/020704/index.html What do you guys think of this?

Part II http://www.tomshardware.com/smoke/02q3/020715/index.html

Bout 50 at full load with the tiny little NW stock hs/f, but it was kinda a rush job. Ive got a swiftech MCX-478 around here somewere so ill fit that and see what difference it makes, but this stock cooler seems pretty good.

Mine undervolts by about 0.12v at each settings, so at 1.7v in bios for example it actually gives 1.58v. But, when set to 1.5v, it gives 1.38 which seems to work perfectly Seems to be common on this Abit board.
-
And check the bit where i said.... Just out of interest....you lot with p4s, what voltages does you cpu get when running at the stock voltage. I know that the p4 spec is 1.5v but ive had 2xAbit TH7-IIs now and they both give around 1.38v when set to 1.5v in the bios (default). Do you guys actually get 1.5v????
-
Go ask that over at the madonion.com forums, they will probably tell you to install the via drivers
-
Well ive lost it found F18 though I think i know where it is but ill have to get it tomorrow, i am 99.9% sure though that it does work under 2000.
-
Probably be the generation after before nvidia can steal that 1 Im actually debating if its worth getting an r300 (because i really liked my Radeon 8500) or just waiting for the nv30.
-
I have a feeling the NV30 is gonna kick some serious a$$ when its released Free FSAA would be fantastic, which i 'think' the 3dfx Rampage would have had.
-
hehe i browse there board every day, but never post. What you say is 100% true, thats exactly how they are. Most ppl over there seem to be very young though, like there first pc..sorry "rig" shipped with windows 95 or later young It just seems to be sort of, oh you can overclock your athlon by changing a bios settings so you must be a PC god mentality.
-
Maybe we should start looking at alternatives to the spinny platter HDD idea. Suppose youd have to consider how it would store the data when the PC was off, and how you could get GBs of storage for a decent amount of moola Im sure someone will come up with something

-
Clutch how does that SiS chipset compare with the 845 and 850? and what made you go for that? Also VOLTAGE!
-
You need to kill that oem file or it will think you have a compaq The ones i downloaded though were only ~13MB as some1 had just ripped em outta the big archive. Ill see if i can find the link for that a bit later today
