Well what would you say the gf4mx is? certainly looks like hardware to me.
-
The gf4mx is false advertising really, the name really implies that it is a geforce 4 chip when infact it really isnt.
-
Fine lock it, close it do whatever you feel you need to do.
-
8500 looks good to me i would personally buy 1 now if i needed a card. This whole doom3 thing....by the time its released we will all be running geforce 10s and radeon 9000000s so who cares if the gf4 mx can handle it or not.
-
Man who cares, hes just pointing out some very useful info for the people who dont know this about the card, and it makes no difference for it to be posted twice or just linked to. Its just so pathetic.
-
Freespace 2 works play that Excellent game.
-
Your temps are perfectly fine, you dont need extra cooling at all.
-
I have had it working yes but it would always crash eventually, between 5-10mins usually. Cant remember exactly how i got it working cos it was a little while ago, but it got into the 3d space combat bit but always bombed out
-
Its most 'improved' chipset though, intel make good ones 99% of the time so its a bit hard to improve
-
hehe this board is now so pro-intel its not funny but with good reason.
-
Authough i havent owned 1 recently its gotta be sis.
-
Hmm, there is no way i would be buying a gf4mx, it would be just like having a renamed gf2 8) It would be interesting to see if nvidia come out with new drivers that improve the performance of the gf4 by loads, like they did with det3 for the gf2s and det4 for the gf3s. And sept-dec is ages i wanna spend money now!
-
i can see your point i was thinking of maybe giving ati a go for a change, when is the r300 coming out?
-
yeah but what i mean is that i can upgrade from a gf3 to a gf4 and feel ok about it, but i need to have the fastest card in the class and upgrading from a normal gf4 to an ultra gf4 would not make me happy
-
Yeah but they do the same every time, initially release a bunch of cards and then make better faster ones (at default). I would probably buy 1 if i could be sure that they wouldnt go and do this.
-
Anyone know a place in the UK with the ti4600 yet? Thing is you can guarantee they will bring out a ti5000 or something as the 'ultra'.
-
Yup i have it as well, its a good game and runs great, i didnt even realise i had left 4x FSAA on by accident !!! (in 1152x864) no less If you got tearing just set it to sync every frame.
-
No he means DOS DOS, as in the real thing, as in what used to be the operating system of choice for pcs and what came with win 95/98 etc
-
Yup i was leaning towards nforce myself, and the integrated gfx/sound would be perfect for what i need it for.
-
ok then, no kg7, but i need suggestions for a decent not via amd board.
-
The Abit TH7-II is rdram only unfortunatly If you know AMD systems, intel = no prob RAID is up to you, 0+1 would be a tad expensive though 8) As far as the chips go, yes they are very expensive (naughty intel). If your into overclocking you can pick up a 1.8 northwood now for a good price and they clock to 2.6 ish
-
Personally i love amd, and i love what they have done to intel, but they really need someone to make a decent chipset. via is outta the question because i just wont buy there stuff on principal with all the problems they have caused me, sis maybe though, i havent ever used an sis chipset. Ali they scared me for life with there socket 7 boards. Anyone have any opinions on the KG7? or any other amd based mobo for that matter? cos i need one to stick a duron 650 into. (must be stable).
