Well ordered my case Coolermaster ATCS-200 and a black floppy drive, should be here tomorrow so ill see if it was worth it

Na its not my favorite game in the world, its certainly not a bad game, just not what i was expecting. Just when i was playing the first game you were in a castle, and you got to shoot nazis and even hitler ! not some stupid skeletons and mummys. Great graphics but i didnt think it was anything special, especially after i had read so many great previews in magazines.
-
RDRAM and DDR are both perfectly stable, and the performance difference is negligable. (Just shame the price isnt )
-
I dont think i could have been more disapointed with RTCW but the multiplayer is good, but then thats not what wolfenstein should be all about. But i have played the demo of medal of honour recently and its about the only game in a long time that i really really wanna get
-
Good call Didnt see that
-
pcdabbler its like you stole my kt7a system or something. I had the exact same problems and nothing i tried made it work properly. I to went intel and within an hour had a stable system I now feel like im missing something, i mean shouldnt i have problems to fix or something ?
-
DON'T BUY VIA more like I dont see anyone with non-via having these problems.
-
So many things can cause this. If youve disabled acpi and updated all your drivers then i have no idea btw its probably via related
-
Just to let you know i have seen that "should not see this" thing as well, but only once, and many formats ago It sounded a bit dodgy to call a process "should not see this" but mine just went away after that 1 time. Does it still do it if you use the previous drivers?
-
If its the sequel which is a pretty good game i could never get it working either, it wouldnt even load, just gives some error. If anyone has it working can you tell me how please?
-
Quote: You can still get an Asus A7M266 and Abit KG7 with the AMD 761/Via 686B combo. See there is just no escaping via
-
But then if that was true the little duron would clock higher than the athlon and as it is it seems to get stuck at 1000mhz ish. Must be other more sinister factors at work.
-
When i was younger and didnt have a job, amd was the only option for me, thats why i had a k6, k6-2 and athlons/durons but now that i have a decent job and money i can just buy what i want. Im not saying that i wasnt happy with amd, far from it, there cpus were very fast but now i have the same kinda speed without having to patch everything up to get it working. I know that some people do have 100% stable amd machines, infact i have one in the other room (duron 850/via kt133) but im not sorry 1 bit that i went intel. And besides, its not that much of a price difference any more, im sure that an XP/DDR combo is quite comparable to a p4/DDR combo but without all the potential hassle. Come on AMD make your own chipsets again
-
Exactly, when amd make there own chipsets again (probably not for a while ) ill go back to them. Providing they are faster that is.
-
It would be a choice of ati radeon 8500 or gf3 ti200. Up to you Both are fast, both support the newer features and both will run games well. I think the 8500 is actually faster than a ti200 though.
-
Well i have to disagree with you. It seems like a myth of graphics cards that matrox has the greatest 2d image quality. Well at the time of there g200/g400 (which i own) yes there image quality was amazing but then what did they have to compete with? Ive seen ati and nvidia cards running and they look practically the same, ive even heard people saying that 3dfx image qualty was excellent and i was suprised to find my voodoo 5 all blury in both 2d/3d. I dont love nvidia i just buy what is proven to work and what has proven itself in reviews.
-
heh nice one. You choose the celeron as an example as a pro for overclocking, thats like me choosing the amd k6-2 as an example of a con. Course your gonna get a huge improvement with a celeron because they clock so insanly high from such a low speed. I really mean athlon and p4 overclocking (not he NW) because with standard cooling your gonna get about 100-200mhz on the athlon and 200-300mhz on the p4. And is that gonna really be noticable?
-
Yes its totally pointless but i do it anyway because i just like to get more than what i paid for if you know what i mean and its fun Friends just think im weird for overclocking (those who know what it is) an already fast computer and then they thought i was insane to cut a hole in the side and stick some lights inside but hey And the guy is right, it gets you nowhere, and i agree that ppl use the argument that it saves money and basically it doesnt in the long run (usually).
-
I to would choose nVidia. Simply because thats what i use and ive had 0 video card related problems. I wont say things like 'ati drivers suck' because to be honest ive never owned a desktop ati card. But in every review ive seen the gf3 beats the 8500 in real gaming situations, i think it even wins in 3dmarks now. You buy nvidia and you are pretty much guaranteed compatibility with both old and new games and all these infinite loop errors are vias fault, maybe if they made a good chipset they wouldnt have such a reputation. Btw all this talk that ati image quality is better than a gf3 is stupid, they look exactly the same. ;(

Authough i can understand your passionate hate for apple users i just have to say that both macs and pcs have a place in computing atm and i have no real reason to slag off macs My mum used to work in a place where they swore by macs for graphics design and having used them i can understand why, but i would never swap my pc for an apple. And hey, if you are just want a pc to check email and browse the web then an apple would do that just fine and look nice in the process. Personally i would never buy one though cos they couldnt do what i want a pc for.

What an age we live in Back when i had my 286 i would have killed for 2mhz 8)
-
I saw this a little while ago (sorry, someone always has to say that). Its obviously a joke, i mean just look at the authors name I just cant beleve that anyone could take that seriously
-
Got the patch for it? It says that it fixes about 5 crash bugs in the game. It might not work but its worth a try.
-
I would say 512 as well
-
I must have had a different problem to you as it now works fine
