Yup i did install em, they show up in the start menu under '3dfx Tools' but when i click them nothing loads Could this maybe be due to running the voodoo as a secondary card alongside the geforce?

You can use a mouse, obviously a joystick is preferable though.

Privateer 2 or Freespace 2. 2 of my favorite games ever.

Have you tried wincpuid ? Its a great little program that among other things tells you the cpu speed. It will at least tell you what the actual speed of the cpu is. ( www.h-oda.com ) -
If the game needs higher than directX 3 then there is no way of running it on NT.
-
Its part of the soundblaster live! drivers.

Yup Norton/symantec ghost all the way It can directly burn to cd which is nice I can 100% recomend it. -
Hey i was just thinking about this some more. Changing hardware shouldnt matter as long as your not changing out most the the pc (mobo/HDD etc), so what if you have a few similar pcs. Surely you cant just load the ghost image and skip activation for many pcs?
-
If you install everything then ghost, and then restore that ghost at a later time, XP will still be activated.
-
hmm i would love one, and if i had that much money to spend (i dont ) i would snap it up
-
I just realised, doesnt NT4 only support up to directx 3 ? Millionare probably requires DX 7 to run correctly as its quite new:(

I would have an IBM personally. Authough i have heard of people having reliability problems, ive had 4 and never had any trouble. I have however had 3 maxtors fail on me, which wasnt nice

www.dabs.com www.insight.com/uk www.computerprices.co.uk (price comparasons) www.overclockers.co.uk www.overclockingstore.co.uk Those are the only ones ive ever needed Dabs being the best for most things.

I should think it would work on a motherboard chipset, mine only has a heatsink after all. But i doubt it would cool a modern gfx card enough

Hi Its normal for it to say its a SCSI drive in XP when its on the highpoint. The way i did it as to let it install without pressing F6 as it has the drivers already. Then when your in windows get hold of the 1.03 drivers and install them in place of the XP defaults. All the drivers after 1.03 have given me really bad mouse 'jitter' and skipping sound. When you say it wont allow you to change them, im sure you can overide it and have it install anyway. Anyway hope this helps. [ Sorry Four&Twenty, you must have posted that while is was typing ]

Yup i tried everything i could think of to fix it but usually the pc would just hard lock, which no other thing managed to do. I havent tried it on my intel stuff yet, so i cant really say it was down to via chipsets. (yet)

USB because it feels alot smoother than when its plugged into the PS2 port. Intellimouse Explorer.
-
Its part of the SBLive! drivers. Did you install Liveware ?

I had the same kinda problem on my KT7A board, dual booting XP/2k. Under XP games would crash eventually, and when they did they usually made a log file, with an error relating to d3d8.dll. If i booted into 2k however everyhing would work perfectly. So when i had to format to install the stuff below, i just went with 2k, and thats how its gonna stay for now

I dont have a compat tab with every file, in fact its with no files. It only appears when you create a shortcut to the particular file.
-
You might want to take a look at the KT7 FAQ on www.viahardware.com under the miscellaneous section, if you havent already. There is a bit on there about USB devices not working.
-
Hi This is a bit of a long shot but its worth a try. Have you tried it without the netgear nic? I bought 1 of them for my kt7a board and it caused no end of trouble, the network wouldnt work and it BSODd all over the place. As the a7v uses the same chipset it might be the same problem? I ended up swapping it for a linxsys 1, and no probs since then.

Yup nero/clonecd. Only 2 ive ever needed.
