Yes but i didnt see any mention of the 850, only the 850E, the 1 with official 133mhz support.

If I were you I would wait till the chip is actually out, and then you can make a decision and know that it will all work, and have the features you want. Looks like im gonna have to finally get rid of the TH7-II if i want Hyperthreading as i doubt they will enable it for an 850 based board, if thats even possible
-
Yeah can i just say, please please please dont let this turn into madonion, where everyone has 75k sigs that are at big as a small car.

Im not buying an AMD CPU until they sort out there motherboards, i dont care how fast they are, if you cant get a stable system then whats the point. Probably makes me look like a 'newbie' so say something like that, but i gave companies like via a chance and tried everything possible to get a stable system on a number of there boards with little success. Anyway, i saw in a few benchies that 166fsb only makes 5%-6% difference in real world performance anyway.

Command And Conquer returns Kernel DLL error. PLEASE HELP
JP- replied to shassouneh's topic in Games
No no no, its very simple. Simply install the game, download and install the patch and then run the game. If it still returns the error run RA95.exe in 95 Compatibility mode. ftp://ftp.westwood.com/pub/ccgold/CCGOLDXPPATCH.ZIP I have yet to find a C&C game that wont work on 2000/xp Even red alert 1 will work using the original cds. -
Yup i did this twice before, authough i dont think it was that exact form, you get stickers for free but i wouldnt wanna tarnish my case with an AMD sticker any more They are foil stickers and i got about 9 Athlons ones, 3 Durons ones and 3 K6-2 ones per go

Sidewinder Game Pad (gameport ver) probs with win2k sp3/sp2
JP- replied to darkmantid's topic in Hardware
Well.....it worked That PC is using a TB Santa Cruz, and its never seen a gamepad before but Sidewinder Auto Detect just found the pad and its working. So i suppose that means that gameport devices can work in SP3 -
Ive left it on for a week on end with no problem, it only crashes if its overclocked too high, but ive found a "sweet spot" now so there are 0 problems

Sidewinder Game Pad (gameport ver) probs with win2k sp3/sp2
JP- replied to darkmantid's topic in Hardware
Hey, Ive got the same pad, ill just go try it on a win2000 sp3 system and see if it works. -
Only AOpen have done this so far as far as im aware Abit would never do anything so pointless

Any idea if there's drivers for MS' force feedback joystick?
JP- replied to Jason B's topic in Games
The gameport version works perfectly. Just plug it in, and use the Add->Sidewinder (Auto Detect) bit in game controllers and it works No trouble with it at all so far There is no sidewinder software for it though unfortunatly, version 3 is just for windows 95/98/ME and version 4 seems to be only for certain USB controllers. -
Hi First post over at linux compatible, so be nice Im just about to stick mandrake 8.2 back on after ive sorted out a backup of the NT partition, and im just wondering what the ATI linux drivers are like, has anyone had any first hand experience? I doubt ill be playing many games using mandrake but you never know
-
Thanks Clutch, just wanted to add another post to linux compatible really bringing the total to 3 Seems a lil dead Ive since had a look on a few sites and im not even sure i could get decent 2D at the moment on the 9700 Might just have to leave it until they bring some drivers out.

Just give it time, its sure to pick up eventually

You guys do realise just how bad the mx200 is dont you? Its like the most castrated card known to man....ever. I wouldnt even be 100% sure its faster than a Voodoo3
-
1024x768 Flyby: 168.46 Botmatch: 57.41 I have a feeling ill be playing the original alot more than this though.
-
Its just because your totally CPU limited, the ti200 is a much better card though so hang onto that 1
-
Well its a GF4MX, aka a GF2, what do you expect
-
Yeah, some discs have macrovison protection to prevent you watching via a tv But if you download TV-Tool i beleve you can disable it. Only works for nvidia cards though, authough ive just been watching a dvd on the tv via tv out with no problem (ati card).

WHEW! I want it: Dual Xeon 2.8ghz processors coming up...
JP- replied to adamvjackson's topic in Hardware
OK sounds good, i might have to go for them. Ive always said to myself that the next system i get will be dual, but i always thought it would be amd as my general feeling was that xeons cost a fortune. But obviously they dont Ill just have to pick out a nice mobo pretty soon as i doubt rambus will be around much longer -

OK just 2 more questions 1) Whats the HS mounting like? is it like the normal p4 mounts? and.. 2) What memory type do you use with yours? Ive got 512mb RDRAM here and it would be good if i could use that. -

I suppose the only boards you can get are made by intel then? So no overclocking allowed -

Well ive always wanted to go dual 8) So maybe this can be an option. How much more are xeons than normal p4s of the same speed?
