Sorry, the FF-Pro (1), being the Joystick...? Works perfectly under both windows 2000 and XP as ive had it working under both via the gameport Nothing special was required, just got it detected in the ctrl panel and after that it works ;( -
Guys: I need a Quake III timedemo Demo for 1.31 build of Q3!
JP- replied to Jerry Atrik's topic in Slack Space
Quake 3 is 1 of the few games that actually supports SMP, so it will be interesting to see the difference a dual cpu can make to it. PC is currently running at 2200 at the moment though, as running it at that speed i can make it virtually silent and i get annoying cold boot problems running over 138mhz fsb ;( (Known issue on the TH7-II ) -
MS only seem to have SP3 in english and german at the moment. Even the french site only has it en anglais So it would seem as if its not available (yet) ?!?!?

I lost a nice 5 port switch in the recent lightning storms Lightning sucks !

Make sure you set a standard if we are all gonna do tests High Quality/Sound On etc? -
The claims could be true, i mean how many fps do you think its gonna get at 1600x1200 with extreme quality ?!?! For example: 10fps normally, 15fps now, whey hey 50% increase, still not usable though

You can find updated VIA drivers at www.viahardware.com

OK stupid question ---> Is anything in the system overclocked at all?
-
Its ok, its grown on me now but can we have avatars ?
-
I had it on since febuary ish time until HDD went pear shaped and i had no intention of formatting at that time as everything was working great Most probably yearly.

If you want AMD and no via, then just do what Brian said and go nForce

HighPoint 370 update driver: Anyone give it a shot yet (alon
JP- replied to BladeRunner's topic in Hardware
Whats even more annoying is i have to send it to holland to get a replacement ;( Got 2000 installed on this new Western Digital drive though seems impressive so far (well as impressive as a hard drive can get anyway ) 2000 makes you realise how sluggish XP seems -
Yeah its kinda grown on me as well, can we have avatars now?

Well how typical is this! Having said how great they are, 1 of my 60GXPs has gone pear shaped Constant ticking and it fails the IBM quick diags Suppose ill get this 1 RMA-d but ive bought an 80gb WD SE with 8mb cache, so ill use that as the primary now Ive just lost so much stuff -
Am i the only 1 that doesnt like it? ugly and cluttered

Can we have some other colour scheme choices?

Personally id go intel, with say a 2.26B p4 as they seem to be a good combination of speed/price, or as good as you can get with a p4 that is The 133mhz bus makes quite a difference so i wouldnt settle for a 100mhz version. As for motherboard id go for the...Abit IT7-MAX2 using the 845E, chipset. Should be plenty fast enough and offer pretty much every feature you could want. Graphics wise its gonna have to be either a GF4 Ti. Your choice on which 1 as they are obviously the same thing but just clocked differently or wait till next month and grab a Radeon 9700. For sound, i have an Audigy Platinum as i thought i would have the odd go at doing music and ive been very pleased with it. Its had far more use than i initially thought it would have RAM wise, 512mb is what i would recommend or 1024mb if your feeling adventurous As far as HDDs go, alecstaar has mentioned the 1 i would get, the 8MB buffer WD drive, but you pay more obviously for that buffer Anyway thats what i would recommend, i personally would get a RDRAM system but i find it harder to recommend them to anyone as each day goes by

Just a quick question, did sticking that monster heatsink on the core improve the overclockability of the memory in anyway?!?!?
-
Gf4 MX is a suped up GF2, there is really no reason to buy 1 at all, as im sure you could get at least a GF3 ti200 for the same money. Then you get to look at the lovely pixel shaded water
-
Isnt that motherboard a slot A board? If so, then your going to have real trouble finding a cpu for it any more. It will most likely take up to a 1ghz Athlon, but finding any to buy is going to be next to impossible

I had the game pretty much working (DOS version) but to be honest with you it doesnt work 100% and its just not worth it. I just gave in and got the deluxe version from a place here in the UK. Using a slowdown util it works perfectly, but its a bit hard to find the deluxe edition.
