I've used just about every version of XP. I installed this latest version to a clean hard drive. I set up my home network and pppoe/Internet connection sharing with hardly a problem BUT!!!! Now if I load just about ANY software, I have pppoe connectivity problems. Specifically, I can log on to the server without a problem, but I can't access any web sites on any browser. I've compared network settings before and after loading the software. Everything seems to be the same. DO any of you have any ideas ??? Abit KT7A Raid 1.2 ghz athlon 390 mb memory SBlive Card Kingston Ethernet card Monster Fusion Video Card I must say that the System Restore has become very handy since this is the only way of getting back online

OK... I figured this thing out. I reformatted the drive again (NTFS). Loaded the OS and I'm having no more problems. There is one peculiar thing I noticed. Even though I formatted the entire drive (as verified by a system response), After I installed the OS, all my old folders with their contents were still there. THis is a problem I'm not going to worry about...good day all

GO to this site. thee is much good information on tweaking DSL. There is also a little program that will remove anything in your registry left from any modems. I used it and greatly increased my downloads. Heres the address http://cable-dsl.home.att.net/index.htm

After loading the Win 2000 Live Ware software, my pc seems to run more slowly. Before the install, everything was instantaneous. I'm running a 1.2 ghz athlon on an ABIT KT7A Raid. Has anyone had a similar problem? Any suggestions as to why the OS is running slow?

I've already done it, but it might help if anyone that has xp and a PhotoSmart P1xxx series printer, send HP some email asking for the drivers. They might speed up the process a bit and release drivers sooner than " 1 month after Official AP Release". That means late November. I'm currently using HP 940c drivers. They work OK.

Thanks for the info...I found that it is CTLauncher that is slowing the pc down...I kill this and the pc operates normally...Now if I could find out how to keep CTLauncher from loading.. It's no use killing in MSCONFIG because it just the OS just sticks it back in and loads it anyway...

Thanks for the info..That works just like you said. I've been running rc-1 since it came out and this is the only problem I've had.
