Im running Max payne on a Celeron 667, GF2 GTS, Det 14.20's, MX300 sound, XP RC1 and no issues at all. There is a patch available for Max Payne already to fix a memory leak and other misc erros with a GF3 on an Athlon. Hope this all helps. Mike

I have a Diamond MX300 (Vortex 2) card in my System, and I have incredibly low volumes. I have to turn ym speakers up to around the 70-80% mark to get any decent volumes, and get quite a bit of crackling and sound loss in XP RC1 Perhaps the Card itself is dying, and if so what do you recommend? Im not gonna buy a Creative P.O.S, and a Santa Cruz is like $450 in New Zealand (and thats Wholesale too!) Any ideas? System Specs. I found the issue of the volume thing in another forum somewhere. It turns out that the Front/rear speaker fader is set towards the back by default by XP, and if you turn on the AC97 controls and select the front/rear fader slider and slide it all the way forward the issue is solved. This of course does make sense, but as to why MS set the fader to the back by default and made it so hard to find is another mystery. Mike

I'm not sure about the Half-Life black screen issue on XP, it runs fine for me on OGL. But I do have the BLack Screen issue with Operation Flashpoint. The game is running OK, but there is just no display, since OPF has no OGL support, Im not really sure what to do. Some other D3D games run OK, Motocross Madness 2 is OK, but I have no sound in that, but thats another issue, I think my soundcard is dying on me Any suggestions?
