    Logitech Mouseware not working

Amen to that. I did the same thing. Sick and tired with Creative messing about I went and got a SantaCruz. I still have a support call open with creative about crackling. They keep telling me that it is the SB16 DOS emulation causing the problem and I keep telling them that there is no SB16 emulation because there is no DOS in Win2k! They also told me to put some crap in my autoexec.bat and config.sys files! At this point I shouted at them and said ARE YOU LISTENING TO ME? I RUN WINDOWS 2000 NOT WINDOWS 9X. "Oh" said the support representative. "We aren't trained on that, so we can't really help you". Jees. They are going to have fun with all the people who upgrade to WinXP from WinME and then their SB Dead doesn't work properly anymore.

    Logitech Mouseware not working

Same problem here. I have the MouseMan iFEEL and Windows XP appears to install the drivers correctly but when you select mouse properties, Mouseware detects the mouse as an M series 2 button mouse. I mailed Logitech to ask them about release date for WinXP Mouseware and the response I got was worrying to say the least. "We cannot comment on un released operating system support. We will consider weather to support this OS as and when it is realeased to the general public". I bet this means that there won't be a Mouseware for XP for AGES after XP hits the shelves. Same as it was when Win2k came out, took them about 4 months.

    SB Audigy

Nope. Shant be touching it with a barge pole. Creative have really annoyed me with their lack of tech support for Win2k and shoddy drivers. Have just bought a Turtle Beach SantaCruz it's like a breath of fresh air after my SBDead!

    Sound card options

The Turtle Beach SantaCruise is a top card. Solved my crackling problems anyhow. The Videologic Sonic Fury is the same card.

    Laptops & Win2K

HP Omnibooks come with Win2k. Runs real nice too.
  6. Run some Q3 benchmarks on it and watch that P4 whup your weenie P3 800s ***. Seriously. Project IGI is not a game that is very indicative of the performance of a machine, hell, it runs SLOWER on my AXIA 1GHz @ 1.4GHz/GF3 than on my Celeron 566 @ 850/GF1 SDR box. I do like the P4 but mainly for it's stability. You have to remember that Intel gear is always more stable than VIA/AMD. Look at all the crap with incompatability of sundcards/changing AGP drive strength that you get with AMD/VIA. My Gaming rig is an AMD/VIA combo but I would NEVER wish it on a newbee any day, even clocked at default speeds it is no rock of stability. I do a lot of music production at home and I use a P3 450 for that becuase of the compatability factor. All soundcards work flawlessly with no crackle whatsoever. If I were him, I would have bought a P3 system on an i815 board because this is tried and tested. Please don't try to tell me that my AMD/VIA rig is only unstable because I haven't set it up right. A lot of my friends have similar setups and none of them can get them truly stable under Win2K. By the way, when I say stable I don't mean being able to run a 3 hour game of Q3 without crashing. I mean being switched on 24/7 for weeks on end. Oh yeah. You may have guessed, I work with bigass UNIX servers as my job so in my opinion anything built on the x86 architechture is inherrantly unstable due to the abundence of crappy legacy componants all over the place ;-)

RAM, How much is too much?

1280MB (2 x 512 + 1 x 256) does me nicely. I am a musician and I frequently do edits of VERY large WAV files. Much nicer to do them in RAM rather than thrash that HDD.

    Logitech Mouseware & XP RC1

Hi All Has anyone come up with a fix for Mouseware under Windows XP RC1? I have an I-FEEL Mouseman+ but Mouseware picks it up as a M-series 2 button mouse. I have tried both Mouseware 9.2F (came on the CD) and 9.0 off the Logitech site but to no avail. Copying reg settings from Win2k to WinXP resulted in no mouse at all! I love WinXP and I really want to use it as my primary OS but this one problem is preventing me from doing that.

    Logitech Mouseware & XP RC1

The mouse movement works fine but the problem is that I can't configure the 4 mouse buttons with the default mouse drivers. This can only be done from within Logitech mouseware.

Yeah. I am the leader of clan [cran]. We play in the UK clanbase league. Currently in hybernation due to 2 members being poached by another clan. We were ranked at 7 out of 42

    Logitech Mouseware & XP RC1

Has anyone tried the above suggestions with any success? I have gone back to Win2k for the moment as I needed my mouse for a TFC match. Don't want to install then re-install if it doesn't work.
