    12.41 Detonators released (officially)

I got tired of screwing with the registry, .inf files, external tools, etc. I had a spare monitor cable, and broke off pin 15 (DDC), hooked it up, turned everything on, setup my monitor in Win2k (and it stays it doesn't try to redetect) and everything works fine now. I am able to choose all of the real available refresh rates in Windows. Also, now when I run the Nvidia Refresh tool, it shows all of the correct refresh rates for my monitor, and I used that to set it for other modes (for the games). Everything is working great now. On a side note, I noticed that the 6.50 drivers don't have this problem, but I had problems with games running those, I would get a black screen or garbage on the screen. I am using the 12.41's.

I am having this problem too, it's driving me nuts. Does anyone know if the 12.90's fix this?
  3. I am hoping someone here can help. I have been posting all over, and haven't found a fix. Problem: Win2k doesn't seem to use my monitor timings, and only offers 60-75hz, even at low resolutions. System: Asus CUSL2-C, 1007 BIos (latest) P3 1 Gighz 256meg PC133 Ram Creative Geforce 2 Ultra 64meg 12.41 Nvidia Drivers Wink2 SP2 SBLive with LW3.0 Pioneer DVD IBM HD's Viewsonic G810 21" I know the monitor can do at least a 100hz in 1024x768, and higher resolutions it can do 85hz. I know this because I used Win2k when it first came out (and it worked fine), and had a HD crash, and went back to 98SE for a while. I had a Geforce 1 at the time, with the same monitor. I have tried changing the monitor type, tried new drivers from Viewsonic, try that Nvidia Refresh program, and even that shows a max refresh on my monitor as 75hz. It seems that Win2k or the Nvidia driver is not reading my monitors timings or something. Everything worked fine in Windows ME, which I just dumped to go to Win2k. When I use the Nvidia refresh program, I set everything up, and reboot, I use 1280x960, and when my machine comes back up, it is set to 256 colors, and I can't get 16bit color in any resolution except 1600x1200, which I would never use. When I undo the changes with the program or reload the drivers, I can use 16bit again, I just still get 60-75hz as my choices. TIA
