When i right click on a directory and try to look at properties or open the 'sharing' option, nothing happens. the options are listed, but clicking them has no effect. Running win 2k, loaded win2k professional components recently and fear that they may have hosed my setup. Have administrator privileges. I can click properties on some files and get the dialog box, but not top level directories. any suggestions or commeserations would be helpful. jmack
