if your X600SE does support dual monitors then you need the DVI adapter to hook up the second monitor and you install the Hydravision software from ati and that should do it for you. I have to admit I haven't checked the specs on your card but if you have the regular video in connector and a white connector next to it (that is where you put the DVI adapter) then yes it will support dual monitors. I use dual monitors at work. s

From what I know MS gamepads of all sorts are no longer supported as they got out of making them. I know that to use mine I have to use the auto-detect function in game controllers then it loads the drivers but no I cannot install the ms software as it doesn't support xp. s

Most times when I see that kind of issue it is either bad media (as in the cd or dvd) or your system memory is going kaput. If you have two sticks of RAM take one out and if you only have the one stick see if you can borrow one to try out instead of buying one for nothing. s

That only happens if you are using a no cd crack to play without the CD or when playing an illegal copy using a no CD crack. if you have purchased the game replace the original EXE file and you will be fine. if not then buy the game as help with illegal software is not allowed on this forum. S

Cracking and any other ILLEGAL use of games is forbidden on this forum. If you want help get a LEGAL copy of the game. S

yes, open up explorer and set that window to the view you like then clic on tools> folder options. then clic on the view tab and you notice at the top it says folder views and you have two options (like current folder) and (reset all folders) choose like current folder and now everytime you go into explorer the view should always be the icon view you like. I'm glad you worked out your problem but just so you know the issue you had might crop up again as you should really have a few more gigs for you C: drive. If all seems well now then maybe wait a bit but maybe on your next install (for whatever reason) maybe add 5GB to your C: for safe keeping.! S

That is due to system restore. It takes up a huge chunk of your drive and a 5GB partition for XP isn't enough. I used to use 5GB when running Windows 2000 and for that 5GB is plenty but for XP I recommend that the C: partition be 10-15GB depending if you install all your Apps to C or some other drive. Myself I only install Windows to the C: drive and then all my games have their own partition and all my apps have their own partition and finally my video editing get's it's own partition. Thus my C: partition is only 10GB and it's been more then enough. S

Congratulations, you have just read the longest post in the history of the internet (sorry for the very long post) Did you install the via hyperion drivers (those are the via driver chipset drivers which includes the AGP bridge) I used to get errors like that if I forgot to install the via drivers before the video drivers. Also you MUST install win98 before you install later versions of windows, unless you want to have lots of fun with a screwed up system afterwards. S

also see if in the bios you have an option for intruder detection. sometimes it needs to be reset after you open your case.If it is for that reason then sometimes it will beep just to let you know someone has been in your case. S

also if you use the microsoft anti spyware it has a restore your home page setting which can help out with that problem. S

Yes that is true but quality will be an issue if you get a cheap card. I have used a wide variety of cards and the cheap ones are a waste of money and time. If you spend a bit more on a more recent tv tuner card (usb or internal)you will get much better results with our encodes. Look at something from ATI. I currently use the TV Wonder USB as it's portable but I think they just came out with something using a newer HD chip. S

Personally I just create a folder and put all the latest drivers there. Device drivers tend to change so often that backing them up is useless as the newer ones are out by the time your ready to restore a back up... unless of course you only have a 56K connection then I see it as being worthwhile.. S

Your power supply may be faulty. do you have access to a spare one that you could try? S

Did you try to change the gamma in game using the options panel.? also when you ask for help you need to give us more info... like the video card you are using....!!!! if you don't give more info you won't get any help because we have better things to do then guess S

did you try to install with only one stick of RAM? S

also try another stick of ram instead of the one you are using and I had a frustrating problem a while back when I would have it freezing up on me during the install and it turned out to be my printer plugged into the usb port. the printer has memory card slots and for some reason the setup kept looking at them instead of the hard drive and it would just lock up my system. so as soon as I unplugged the usb printer it all worked okay. Now I don't think it is related to your issue but brought it up just in case... S

I recommend when installing win xp that you make sure you are not connected to the internet. If you are I promise you will be infected upon the first reboot. I have three classrooms that I image on a regular basis and we decided to run a test one day for the hell of it. we installed a winxp image with no SP's and upon rebooting and letting the machines sit for five minutes 13 of my 21 computers in that class were infected..... download sp2 for xp and burn it to a disk and disonnect the network cable, install wix xp reboot and apply the service pack. Make sure the firewall is turned on (in xp) and then reconnect the network cable and carry on. sorry I know I am off topic but that is my recommendation for installing xp at any time... S
