Actually if your in a place of business that has music the public can hear then you need a licence.. sorry was not to clear about that, so it does not apply to car stereos that are too loud or the neighbour.. for that you have to rely on your cities by-law about noise. S

Star Trek Enterprise not going to see 5th season...
thatsteveguy replied to jmmijo's topic in Slack Space
I think it's too bad. The show had potential but they definately screwed it up the moment they did a TIME episode. Oh yeah that was the first episode...lol. but seriously they did have the odd episode that was good and they should have dealt more with being out there for the first time and interactions with the new species etc. They just started on the Romulans now and they should have done that earlier. I will miss T'Pol's ass as well. C'mon Admit it, so will you! S -

I've been looking to do that anyway. Would that drive support the game? thanks so much for your help. Sara Well if you want to do a complete upgrade right now then go for it but if you just want to do the card for now get something along the lines of an ATI X800 pro or Nvidia Geforce FX series then you can upgrade the rest of the system after. It really depends on how much you want to spend because there are cards that are better then the X800 pro but if your gonna spend alot look at a complete upgrade. If you go with ATI don't get a card that ends with SE (they tend to be stripped down versions so just don't bother with them) Your system could use an upgrade but doesn't necessarily NEED an update so you could stretch it out a bit more by getting a really good video card now and then when you upgrade the rest just keep the card and put it in with the new parts. How can I install XP on one Partition without distroying the extended?
thatsteveguy replied to kaad_g's topic in Everything New Technology
Most likely he created the partitions but didn't actually format it after so winxp would have ignored it and seen it as one.. s -

Steve, Sorry to be thick - I have run DXDiag - is that what you mean? BB and I guess it did pass the tests? I was just wondering if you know it the Intel graphic supports T&L? as I have no idea if it does or not. S

First off 'Gone_to_stay' I don't think your card does support the game. try running the tests that can be run with the DXdiagnostic tool. It will probably fail on the DX9 test. Bobby_Boy. I am not familiar enough with those Intel Integrated graphics and how well they run the games that support the latest hardware but my feeling is it's not supported as well. try running the DXdiagnostic tool mentioned above and run the tests. vrykolakas You won't be able to 'fool' the game to play if your computer isnt up to spec. You might just have to wait till you upgrade.. sry s

I don't quite understand... What is your question? S

That's right. You are allowed to record a show for your own use but you are not allowed to pass the video to someone else. S PS the laws are a little different here in Canada when it comes to file sharing. I am allowed legally to download copyrighted material but I am not allowed to upload it. I am also allowed to share a drive and let people access it to download from me whatever they want. Let's put it this way. I buy a music cd and I lend it to a friend. Here in canada he is allowed to make a copy of it for his own use but I cannot buy a CD and make a copy to give to my friend. He has to make the copy himself. This is why the RIAA has no power here and cannot prosecute anyone on this side of the border. They do not like it but tough this is not their country. I don't condone piracy etc but the RIAA and MPAA have been given way to much power in this regard and they seriously need to reign them back. S

Why the big fuss with SIMS2???????!!!!!!!!!!!
thatsteveguy replied to Wicked101's topic in Slack Space
Yeah it would have to be something simple, and don't get me wrong because I do think it is a good idea and all it's just that if they aren't reading the side of the game box to check specs I don't think they will bother to check the side of the PC.... I don't know why this seems to have suddenly become such a big problem. Is it that alot of people have been sitting on PC's for a while (except us Hard Core Gamers that have been up[censored]) or is it that games have suddenly jumped so far ahead that you have no choice but to have the latest gear?? Your question is way off track for this site

Originally posted by Chii: Quote: Ok, I have a problem with my Sims 2 and so far, no one can help me! I bought the game months ago and found out I couldn't play it because I didn't have a video card for it. So I bought a video card, it's an ATI Radeon..It's a great video card! So now my game started to work, only It would freeze after 10 minutes! So I thought I needed more ram, I bought another 256 of ram recently, so now I have 512 of ram! It STILL froze after 15 to 20 minutes!! I tried playing the game without sound to see if it was my sound driver, the game ran for about 25 to 30 minutes, so I thought It was my sound driver. But then, as soon as I saved, it froze again! Most of the time, it's when I save that the game freezes! WHY does it do this? There's NO reason for it to freeze!! I have lots of space, memory and ram, plus a really good video card!! WHY?? Can you help me PLEASE!!? Thank you!! Chantal do other games freeze? it could also be a heat issue. now I have noticed that sometimes when saving the game seemed to freeze up on me but if I waited a while it would be okay. Next time it happens (when saving) try waiting a bit to see what happens

I'll run with 4.12, but so far it still does not fix my texture anomalies. Thanks. getting hits on the 4.5 is not unusual. you can probably get hits on most driver versions. now the texture flickering. First off a couple things. your video card is a stripped down core of the 9200 line. most are 128 bit cards but yours is 64bit. also it supports DX 8.1 and does not support DX9 specific features. Now it should still run the game, you mentioned the video acceleration slider earlier. have you tried it half way instead of all the way? and if so did you get the error like when it was set all the way down? if not then try the game and see if you still get flickering. Now sometimes this can be caused by a bad refresh rate (is Vsync enabled?), or it can just be new drivers installed over old drivers or there are old files kicking around and that can muck up a game sometimes. Now you might want to completely uninstall the drivers (go into add remove programs and see if you have an ati driver cleaner listed and uninstall it , it will take out EVERYTHING ati related) if that cleaner is not there then just unistall the driver the regular way , reboot and when it detects the video card just install the standard VGA driver. Then install the ATI 4.12 drivers and see if that helped. S I have a Radeon X800 Pro and I will sometimes get flickering in some games etc but most times they are actual driver issues that get resolved in the next update etc.

Who is right... and where would I get the most recent driver if not from the manufacturers website??? The latest driver is the 4.12 . we are into a new year so expect the 5.1 drivers to be out sometime this month. also what Radeon do you have?? Radeon is a brand name covering many different ATI cards unless you are using the very first RADEON card in which case it is known as just a radeon card. s

I use a no cd patch so I don't have to use the cd, but I don't think these things load from the cd right? So how can I fix this? Cuz this is a huge problem, I can buy an existing house and redecorate it, but I can't build my own house... An ironic joke would be that the problem is also due to the directx problem, lol. that is what happens when you use the pirate version of the game. If you are using a no cd-crack you will also get this problem. either replace the no-cd crack with the valid EXE file or go out and buy the game. S
