When a vpn is setup correctly, are you able to see the workgroup under network places? Or do you just connect to it's IP (http://1.1.1.1) and map the drive that way? Is there any options that a VPN supports that I should be using optimise the connection?

When XP first came out I tried release candidate 1 and 2 and both ran poorly on my system. I was told there have been major performance improvements since the RC's, but I don't want to spend $299 on something that won't run like I need it too. I am NOT asking for a pirated version, just wanted to know if there was any type of trial out there like the RC's. If it works fine, I'll buy it, if it doesn't I will keep Win2K. Thanks

I was working on a document and got about 30 minutes into it when my comp performed a memory dump and restarted. The bugcheck was: 0x000000e1 (0x80421fb0, 0x00000002, 0xfcc48aa8, 0xfcc48aa8). Microsoft Windows 2000 [v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: D:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini072503-02.dmp. First off, does that error look familiar to anyone...I would love to get this resolved. The computer has been doing this as of the last week. I'll check dates, it seemed to have started around the implementation of SP4, but might not be related to it. Second..anyway of getting info from the dmp file? What exactly is saved in this dump file?

I'm running windows 2000 pro SP4 right now and I have had this problem since SP3 came out. I even did a clean install, worked fine, updated with sp3 and poof the problem was back. I can't figure it out. I hear my HD powerdown, then the system just freezes. Annoying as hell.. Hope you get it figured out!

I have never used a browser other than IE and Netscape but decided to try Mozilla this morning. What a cool browser..the tabs are simply awesome! I think I found myself a new browser! And the popup killer is appreciated! Anyone know of any major problems with it? I am using version .6

Yeah, I might give Opera a try in the near future. One thing I am noticing with Mozilla Firebird, is even after setting it as my default browser, IE strill loads when a url is clicked from an outside sourse such as e-mail. Is there a reg string that needs to be changed?

It is no longer listed on download.com, where might I find this program? I have done a couple searches but they all lead to the same link.

I had something similar happen once. I just deleted the folder...then deleted the reg strings related to office (Or most of them) then used a reg cleaner to finish up the process. I then re-installed my new version which overided most files found in the windows/shared folders. I know it's not a clean uninstall, but it worked.

First check the games official website to see if there are any patches for it. Update the drivers for your video card. Check windows update for compatibility updates. And if you still come up with nothing, do a search on the net for WinXP Pro Boarder and see what if anything other people have tried.

I had a similar problem back with 12.44 drivers..I had a game that wouldn't run after installing them. I went back to the 12,41 drivers and the game ran beautiful. It's something you could try if all else fails =)

What can I do to increase data transfer over a small 8 system network. We are using a DOS based database program with 7 Windows 95 machines (The program seems to run faster on 95) and the database is stored on an NTFS partition on our Win2K Pro (Acting as our server) A couple other questions... How much memory does DOS recognize? Are there speed limitations via networking with DOS? What other limitations are there with DOS? Heya DOSfreak..you around? =) Oh..anything I can add to or remove from config.sys or autoexec.bat that might improve performance?
