I can find earlier versions fine mostly v5.0...but every v7.0 link turned up dead. I searched 4 engines and a couple shareware sites like that simtel.com you mentioned. No luck. Let me know if you think of a place to get it. I might have time to search again later.

Alec...can you help me out? I can't seem to download that program...is there any other place I can download that program?

We are using 5 Windows 95 workstations and a Windows 2000 server at my work place. The windows 95 systems are the original win 95 release. We don't have any service packs, and are not using version a, b, or c, just the original. Now here is my problem. Almost every morning at least 1 or 2 out of the 5 workstations needs to have the network drive re-mapped. It's like windows is forgetting about it. I have it set to reconnect at logon, but never the less 1 or 2 a day have this prob. Is this a bug? If not, what might be the cause?

Every morning that I come in to work...our internet doesn't work. We have a cable connection...munning to a symantec vpn 100 router, then from the router into a 16 port linksys switch. If I unplug the modem for 5 - 10 seconds then rewtry, everything is fine. We run Windows 2000 Pro. Anything jumping out to you as to why this might be happening? We have a dynamic IP now but will be getting static IP's on june 25th. Will this effect our problem maybe? This is probably a simple problem for you IT techs out there =)

Release and renew was the first thing I tried. I called the company who supplies our modem and we narrowed it down to the modem or the broadband signal to the modem. We have a technician coming today to run some tests on it.

Hey gang...we have a new VPN set up between 2 offices 30 miles apart. We have cable access in both locations. We are trying to run a program on our server (location 1) from our other office (location 2). We are using 2 Symantec VPN 100's and running windows 2000 sp3 in both locations. The program is DOS based and is a database program for durable medical equipment (DME) It can take up to 10 seconds to load some things remotely compared to loading instantly at our main office. Are there any MTU settings that can be changed or anything that will improve our connection? Help is greatly appreciated!

We just got cable setup at our 2 sister companies and now want to be able to access the shared drive at one company from the other. How do I go about doing this? We have static IP's also.

*gulp* Is there any basic way to allow one company to access a shared drive at another company. Each company has a linksys router and Terayon cable modem. Is there something I need to setup within the router to allow incoming connections? Don't mean to be a pain, I just need to get it done today or tomorrow. Any advice? -

Would setting up a VPN through Win2K Pro "Make New Connection" work for me? If so, is it a hard process? Never done it =)) -
Is it possible to set a screensaver to startup after say a 20 second idle? It will require a reg hack I believe. Or if not, is there a program out there that can do this? Gotta love HIPAA

It's actually for a buisness computer in the showroom of our DME store. The FDA requires us to keep all patient information private. Things are getting more and more strict, and we need to prepare against someone leaning over a counter top and viewing info on the monitor. We have a privacy screen on our monitors now that allows you to only see whats on the screen if you are directly behind it. If you are off to the side it just looks black. Having a screensaver kick in is just another step we have to take "just in case".

If so.. what style(s) have you taken and how long have you been doing it? Just curious how many people share my hobby. I have been doing martial arts for over 18 years now...started when I was seven. I'll list the many styles in a later post if others are interested. Also, anyone else do any weapons training?
-
I like the fact that more people are doing mixed martial arts. I myself have taken many styles and have been working out everyday for the last 18 years. I can't believe its been that long...I'm only 25 now. It kinda bothers me when someone thinks "their" style is the best. All styles have benefits and uses. IMO. Anyone here worked with Jeet Kune Do?

Quote: You can also find DJ mixes of tracks that are pretty cool, and would never make it to CD through any overpriced recording label. So true..there are some great remixes out there!

I wonder what kind of responses I WOULD have received if that HAD been the question hehe.

Car Modifications, Amazing stuff you can do to a ride!

Quote: I'd own one, if I was not afraid of dying on one... you know what I mean? I understand the fear factor to a certain degree. Heck when I first bought my bike off the showroom floor, I was scared as hell driving down the road at 35mph. It felt like 90mph at the time. Now I can drive as fast as I want and I feel very comfortable. The other side to that...most accidents happen because of someone goofing around. We just lost a guy in the next town for doing as such. He pulled a wheelie and lost control. He was thrown into the other lane into an on coming vehicle which..gulp...cut him in half. =( Probably didn't know what hit him. A bike is not a toy...It is a very powerful machine and needs to be respected as such. But...if you buy a bike to cruise around and not do what I do (wheelies, stoppies etc...) chances are you'll be fine. You do however need to keep a hawks eye on everything going on around you. That will get easier with more experience. I guess my point if any, is that a bike will do what you tell it to do. Just be sure you can handle what it does =) I tell my friend who is gonna try his first wheelie this year, "BABY STEPS!". Don't try to get a high or long wheelie your first try. Just lift the front tire a little and set it back down. Get used to what it feels like to have the bike at that angle. I played with wheelies for 2 years before I felt comfortable. Experience takes some time to attain. I feel like I am getting off track here hehe. I think everyone should try riding at least once in their life. It's a very rewarding and fun feeling. Don't let a bikes power scare you, just take the time to get used to it. On a last note..I have people asking me all the time why I do things like wheelies, stoppies and drive reel fast... "If you've never done it, you'll never know =)" -

Just looked at the new cycle world, and it happens to have a turbo charged NOS kit in it. The bike is pretty sick...I'll try to grab the mag on my lunch break and scan the pic. It's pretty ruthless. -

Quote: * Hey, do they still make cycles w/ turbos on them, or is that outlawed now? I have seen those & they were FAST! Ready for this?! There is a company out there that specializes in turbo charged NOS kits for bikes. Yes I said turbo charged AND Nitrous. I'll try to get the name of the company later..I'm at work now. Could you imagine that? The bike in the article is a Suzuki Hayabusa and has 367 horsepower on the rear wheel! This bike can spin the tire even when at 150mph. Now THATS scary heh -
How do you like XP as an OS? I have heard so many mixed reports on it. What type of system specs do you need to make it efficient? Any major bugs still in it? Any comments appreciated!

Car eh? Try a motorcycle! I ended up buying a brand new ZX6R sportbike 4 years ago. This thing will do 170mph in seconds PLUS I can go about 200+ miles with $4 - $5 in gas -
Quote: been having low system resources latly when i start up im at 64% with only Zone Alarm and Anit-Virus running Are you sure that is all your running? Check here in your registry (Regedit) for a list of startup programs: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run A lot of things can be in here...clean out what you know you don't need and restart...see how it looks from there. You can also try what the other posted said with changing your swap file size.
