This is what i'm talkin' about!!!! nice!!! are any of these guys available in Canada yet?

I'm looking for a way to cool down my harddrives too. I even thought i could stick an old PII slot one heatsink on my harddrive but it didn't fit in my bay. ;( so far i'm still looking for a good way of doing it. :x my cpu and motherboard is ok!!!! i have it running cool!

could these soudncards get any better? i mean i don't want to buy an Audigy and end up having NOT THE LATEST ONE!!! is there anything under development? anything different?

How long did you wait while you were having the blank screen? May be it whould have gone to be normal after 15 sec. or so.

if you are using the WD hdd as master with slave, sometimes the jumpers don't seem to work. fi windows xp is installed on it sometimes it may give you boot failre. if the problem is with your WD try putting the drive on its own as a master with no jumpers on it. it whould solve the boot failure problem! try to see if that helps to solve your problem too. i never liked WD anyways. i even prefer SAMSUNG over WD.

Windows XP pro has a much better support for multimedia production and capturing video. I could never get my ATI Rage Theater Capture to work with Win2K. I hated Win 2k for that, but as soon as I installed WinXP all my problems were solved. Now I can do anything i want with my videos and XP is definitely more resourceful than win2k.

once i had this problem and it was solved by locking the desktop items and disabeling the web contents in active desktop. try that and see if that helps.

i work for a computer company (MDG to be exact) and i like usin norton ghost 6.0 (for some technical stuff with the ghosting machine) the only problem you may face with win 2k is when you use a NTFS partition. other than that you can ghost any FAT32 partition.

Does anybody knows what Devldr do in win XP it keeps crashing when i log into my computer from any account. i have tried several registery fixes but it didn't help. is it important to have this program running? DEVLDR has a PF file and a several .exe files. is it kind of a driver controller or something? i'll be pleased to learn from you. thanx

Geforce 2 MX is a cheap card. but the only good thing i can tell about it is that it is compatible with almost anything! and the drivers (as others have posted) are good. But for heavy gaming i'm not sure if it is a right choice. because it is always hot! even when you turn on the computer and you are in the early steps of booting it starts to get worm. so you have to have a rear fan or something to keep the other parts of mother board in the right temprature. It has a fan on it but it only cools down the card itself. the best system i made with that i had to put a big *** power suply and two fans in the case in front and the back. even with that the guy asked me to put his hard drive somewhere close to the fan. i have no idea if that helps but i had a system that kept crashing on a worm day like today! ;(

To day we just received new computers with P4 1.4 N on them. Well the only difference I saw first was it was installed on a new Intel Motherboard and it was using SDRAM. But when I wanted to change the processor with a P4 1.5 Ghz. I found out that under the huge heat sink and the big fan there is a very small (miniature size) P4!!!! So does that mean that the older P4 are not compatible with the new ones at all? I mean you can’t mix the old P4 with SDRAM. No matter what motherboard you have? Is the CPU itself different than the old one? Or just it doesn’t have the big green part around it?

i just found out today the Cpu itself has more pins than the older p4's. but the pins are fit in a smaller area and the chip is a bit bigger than the old one when you put it on top of each other. it has got a much larger fan and heatsink plus tons of gel on it. these are what you may see from outside but i don't know anything about inside it. does all that make a difference?

guys have you ever heard anything about socket 845!!!?? that's what they call it in the store. i can't really trust that but i can't see the chipsen neither. the systems come pre-built so i can't change anything. (the socket number and name of the manufacturer is under a another big hitsink that i can't remove! it's more like they use glue to stick it down!! )

Does anybody remember ATI fury 3D MAX that has 2 Rage 128 pro chips and 64 Mb of VRAM? It is gone now. It is a great card. It looks neat too! but they are all on the return shelves back in the stores! Because ATI was too lazy to actually build a driver that works with the card and the system doesn't freeze!

the other day the temprature of my room was about 42 degrees Celcius. my case from out side was hot, i could feel it. but the only problem i faced ws that the computer got a little slow in the game (4x4 Evolution) and the texture started to disappear. all i did was that i oppened the case and put a 20" fan bside the computer. it never realy crashed!! but i had the restarts when it was just half an hrs from the start in a much cooler temp. if heas wasn't the problem in my case what could be. note that i didn't change anything on my system and the "random restarts" are just gone. they just started to happen every 5 min, then just stopped from happening!!!!! i'm really confused now!!

just today our neighbour got his new computer: Intel MB P4 1.5 GHz 8) 128 MB 400MHz RDRAM 8) Nvidia GEFORCE 2 32 MB running WIN 98 SE. well, i got my hand on that computer and i was kind of dissapointed. the computer mut be almost twice as fast as mine (p3 800) but it seems like it is working with the same speed as mine. in oppening some games it was even slower than my computer (project IGI, although the sky looks better!! that's because of Nvidia card). now you have my sys profile here, what do you think? should it be that way? (you know i didn't tell him anything about this site, and he hasn't got internet yet. so it is safe to speek freely!!!!)

Oh my..... i don't really care about what he does about his computer. the truth is he is giving me S*** telling me that he has got a better system! i won't tell him anything. let his die in hes selfishness!!!! if he was a better person i could have helped him but he doesn't deserve it!!

Well no offence, but in this site most people are NT and WIN 2K fan. (I currently have win 2k installed on my computer, so i'm kinda in this too!) so this is just a personal question after one and a half weeks of experiencing win 2k: What's the big deal about this buggy, and graphic killing OS except the network ability? ;( (by the way i need that network thingee, otherwise i vote 98 SE for home users, not even ME)

th driver version for ATI ALL IN WONDER 128 PRO is 5.13.01.192 which is the latest one. i have also tried 5.13.01.3225 which is not much better! i'm giving up. i can't do all my work with my computer now. it works great for networking (which i had the most problems with win 98 se) but now i can't even watch my videos. my monitor gives me that crappy "refresh rate lower than recommended..." thingee, even when i put the refresh rate to be 100Hz at 1280X1024! well shoud i get a third computer? ;(

at school in our computer class, we installed Linux on one of the "Board of Education" machines that has WIN NT 4. on it. it was a P2 400MHz, with 128 MB ram (Dell Clone). it actually worked wery good with both OS installed on it. didn't have any problems at all.i wonder if that works on Win 2000. if it does i want to try that. i want to get rid of windows somehow!
