Hello. I have a problem under WindowsXP - Some of installed applicatios reacts extremely slow to certain commands. For example OutlookXP: it works just fine fo everything but when I create a new mail message application (word) stop responding for ~3 minutes... Corel Photo Paint 10 is waiting for ages when I try to create a new image. File/Print dialog is reacing so slow that I have to wait ~2 minutes when I choose File/Print and ~2 two more minutes for every change I made... The apps just stops respondig... and then after a while (if I have nervs to wait) it usualy works... Why? I had this problems before... I reformated my system drive... And now... after some time the problems came back... Thanks for reading this and for any help...

Hello there... Whenever my Explorer or Internet Explorer stops responding, I kill it and run it again. Then everything works okay, but I am missing some of my Tray Icons, for example Norton Antivirus' Autoprotect icon. I can still see all of it's processes running in Task Manager, but I can't open it, because the only way to open it's window is by clicking it's icon in Tray (okay NAV is bad sample because you can run it again via All Programs menu, but there are some applicatios that I can't be run again like that, because they are opened as new instance). So application is still running in background, and I can't open it's window because it's Tray icon disappeared... The question is how to access this application or how to refresh tray Icons that disappeared in Explorer's crash. Thanks for helping me...

Sampson, I agree with you, but sometimes when I kill Intetner Explorer (IEXPLORE.EXE), all Explorer instances (including Taskbar) restarts too... And consecutively some of my System Tray Icons are gone... Okay but it is not that important how Explorer craches, the point is that my Tasbar reloads and that's why my Tray Icons disappears... All I want is to bring those icons back without killing their processes in Task Manager and run those apps again...

Hello... I have a problem again... Now on WindowsXP Home Edition. When the system starts up and the welcome screen shows up everything seems okay. But when I click a user and type the password, welcome screen goes off for a second and my wallpaper shows and then it immediately throws me back to welcome screen and it is logging me off. After that welcome screen with all users listed shows up again... It's the same if I press CTRL-ALT-DEL and try to login using "Log On to Windows"box; and if I try to login as Administrator in this logonbox, it says: "Unable to log you on because of an account restriction"... But if I go to Safe mode I can login normally. I tried to restore my system to an earlyer state (two days before), but it didn't help. What can I do? I am unable to login... Thanks,

Hi thanks for answer... But I think that Home Edition does not have Group Policies Editor... To I am unable to check User rights assignments... But I think it's everything okay with User rights... I have newly installed Windows and now everything works okay... Thanks for everything...
-
Thanks for your answer. I created new User Account with Administrative rights in Safe mode, but I still can't log in using that account in normal mode... It just loggs me off before I am logged in... So there's probably something wrong somewhere else... And accounts seems to be all right...

Hello there... My lousy neighbour has flashed the Pioneer DVD-144 with wrong Regionfree Firmware: DVD-104F... Now of course his DVD won't work. I also can't simply flash it with appropriate firmware, flashing just kicks me out in the middle of the process and the old wrong firmware is still there. What can I do? Any idea? Is there any utility, for solving rhat kind of problems? Thanks,

Hello all... I have Microsoft Windows Messenger 4.6 installed and since yesterday it won't run. Everything is working great, but when the system starts there's no Messenger running as all the days before it was. Okay - I tried to run it manually from Start | All Programs | Windows Messenger (or ...\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe) and only hourglass (busy mouse cursor) appears for a second or two and then nothing. Messenger won't run. There's nothing in tray, nothing like 'msmsgs...' in Task Manager's Processes list... Nothing strange in Event Viewer... Just nothing to track my problem... I edited the \Windows\Inf\sysoc.inf file to find and remove Messenger but I couldn't find it in Windows Components dialog, so I deleted all the files in \Program Files\Messenger\ and reinstalled the Messenger, but it won't work any better. No luck so far... Thanks again for reading this and any help you could give.

Hello again... My brother has AMD Duron 700, 192 megs of RAM, Geforce2MX, 40GB IBM, 3com net card, etc... Is this configuration good enought for Windows XP Home Edition? Beause it works just fine until a certain moment - when you open some game or application... computer stops responding or it starts responding very very slow. I tried to open Task Manager and after ages it really has stareted. And I saw that the application or a game I started is eating 99% of CPU's time. I killed the process and computer started responding normally... Why is this happening and what can I do? Thanks for any help,

Hi there! How do I set a custom FTP username and password for my FTP server? I mean I don't wanna use one of my Windows logon usernames for FTP logon... I don't want to enable Guest account (because then anyone can log on my machine)... I'd just like to set my MS IIS FTP server so people can log in as test/test or something like that... If I try to change username and password under my FTP Site Properties, Security Accounts, Allow Anonymous connections, it won't work then... Thanks...

Hello there! How can I restore original WindowsXP files from the CD? For example, I am using my own LOGONUI.EXE and things like that but now I would like to restore the original one... Some months ago I remember that it was posted a simple console command to do this, but I can't find this news message again... Does anyone have any idea how to do this? Thanks for help (and reading this), -Andrej
