    can share files

i cant get two xp systems to share files over the network. here is the error i get: --------------------------- Workgroup --------------------------- \\Turk(computer name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- both computers are hooked up to the net through a linksys router and or on dhcp ips. I can see the computer i just get this error when trying to connect to it to see its files. I am on the same workgroup too. wtf is wrong thanks
  2. I have spent way too much time on this problem and all i have managed to do is waste a month of my life. STR (supsend to ram) and hibernate modes work fine for me in w2k, but in windows me i get an error message that reads: your system could not enter a low power state mode because of your usb device and hibernate is nowhere in site. I disabled usb controller in device manager to see if i could then go into str mode, but then i get the same error message except this time it's for my scsi card and not for the usb device. My friends str and hibernate options work fine on his kt-133 chipset in windows me and with the same, latest, via 4in1 drivers. He does have some different devices under system devices in device manager which i havent been able to get. I really want to get this option working since in w2k my burner doesnt work and my dvd playback is shitty, plus windows me is better for 3d. Also, i live in cali and str would cut my power bill by a little. I remember seeing hibernate in windows me on an installation a while ago so i am sure my system can have these features in windows me again. I think i have to reinstall windows with proper bios settings to solve this. I know in win98 u have to do some /p j crap in dos before u install . Any help would be much appreciated. bios settings: acpi- enabled pm controlled by apm- *yes (power management controlled by advanced power management, i think) acpi suspend type: s3(str) plug and play bios- *no (on installation of windows) *i messed with these settings in the bios and then some, but it didnt help.
