did you by any chance reset in BIOS to ATA instead of Raid? Since cd-roms are ATA-33 it is best to connect them on IDe1 or 2.

I want to delete the GhostStartService in the admin screen. I am using winxp. I delete the whole folder of Norton Ghost by mistake and cannot reinstall the application. Tried to ghost my hd to an image but the ghost boot floppy gave me an error. I deleted a bunch of references to Ghost in the registry but the last service eluded me. If I can somehow remove this service, my plan is to re-install the application and ghost the image. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry did not get back sooner. The page file was the culprit. I had set up for a page file on another drive and during the transition, it got lost thus the error shown. Learned something. Thanks guys.

This is the error "Kernel_Stack/Data In_Page error" when I am running w2k. I have set my page file on 2 HDs with 1550mb. Is it a page file setup error? Or is it something else? I am ready to transfer this drive image to another Raid setup and wanted to make sure that all it was. Thanks.

set the pagefile size to a fixed number at least 100mb more than win recommends on the screen. my minimum req. is 1536mb, set it for c: 300mb and d: 1300mb.

thanks for the warning. i use this hd for storage only. anyway, i could not use maxblast2 to format it.

install the maxtor ata133 pci card first without hooking up the hard drive. go into my pc properties/hardware and install the drivers with the maxtor cd that came with the controller. after win2k sees the controller turn off pc and hook up the drive. at this point you can either use maxblast ii floppy to format the drive or go to computer management/disk management and format the drive. if you dual boot you need to partition the drive into 2 equal or any partition less than 137gig so bios can recognize it. i opted for the win2k disk management format and formatted my drive as one partition 152gig. don't ask me where the 8gig went. good luck.

Some of you experts can help me? I have installed win2k on my pc. The installation went fine, I ghosted the drive onto my raid. Every time I install a new software, i.e., windows media player 7.1, and reboot according to instructions, the pc rebooted and gave me an error: c000000026c - Unable to load device drivers at c:\winnt\system32\win32k.sys, error code x000000221. I repaired the installation using the CD and it worked again. Then the next go around, it happened again. I have everything working last night, went thru the proper shutdown procedure, this morning, the same error showed up again. Is there something that prevent win2k from properly loading? Or my original installation was not done correctly? I went thru this ordeal for 2 weeks now.
