I had that same issue, with installing NAV 2002, Basically, I uninstalled and installed twice and it worked. After the first install, which I received the script error, when the dialog box pops up and says "configurating NAV...", I cancelled out of it. uninstalled the program. And manually ran regedit and searched and deleted all reg- keys that were left over and all the symantec directories and navnt directory and files... I installed it again and then it worked.... Not sure if this will work for you... but it did for me.

I have that same issue... I have an Aureal Vortex II chipset sound card, and randomly within 20 sec... it goes mute.. I have an Abit KT7A Raid. Running XP Pro. Build 2600 I had a SBLive! 5.1 on the abit board, and had rediculous amounts of trouble... That whole via incompatibility.... oh well.. I don't have much faith in the SB Audigy cards.... But I hear the new Santa Cruz Turtle Beach card kicks some major arse... And compatibility to boot.
