Win. Serv. 2003 Ent. and old Sounblaster 64 (isa)? -SOLVED-
Tomay replied to Dudemeister's topic in Hardware
M$ said something about supporting the AWE cards later, but so far I couldn't find them. -
w98 was the greatest till 2000 came. The SE sucked.
-
They are enabled by default. You can right click on the start and select properties and there you'll find this setting.

I can only say that there are more bad games than good ones being released. The same goes for movies. Sometimes I feel sorry for playing a game at all e.g. postal 2. Even the first part was more cool. What sucked the most latley was the Knight Rider (emoticon for vomiting)

2003 server diect 3d not working how to enable it
Tomay replied to duhmez's topic in Everything New Technology
www.neowin.net/reviews/win2003_wks/Windows%20Server%202003%20as%20a%20Workstation%20Guide.doc Or try searching the Google for some. There are lot of guides for that. -
I doubt that P5 will be 64bit, cos intel 865 and 875 are said to support it.
-
why don't you use two nic's? I use two of them, one for my internet connection and one for my local network. I think I could use both of them for internet but I don't know how would windows use such two internet connections.

There are some kind of updates (not from micro$oft) that offer support for usb under NT. Search the web... Good luck

Screensaver password isn't really a good protection. If the machine had a password for the administrator you couldn't do what you did.

You can buy raw cd-r's that look silver from both sides, you just need to print them using the same technique that they use to get your firm's name on lighters, ballpoints ... and other plastic.
-
Why didn't you just create a pdf of a post-script file in a 1200dpi resolution?
-
Did you enable the audio service? win2003 has sound disabled by default

My friend who has a photo studio got a new machine for developing films. The machine is from fuji with W2000 no problems here. With the machine he bought an IBM dual P!!! 256Ram SCSI HDD, SCSI CDrom, SCSI CDRW, SCSI smatr compact flash... media reader, .... and some other stuff. This machine will be used for Photoshop7, scaning, reading digital media, maybe soem internet. but mostley for image manipulation. with PS7. The machine has a serial number sticker from Micro$oft on it with two serial numbers: one for windows2000, and one for windows NT4. Installed on the machine came NT4. Can I or may I switch to windows 2000? I only have some kind of recovery cd, not the full installation one. Would it be better to use windows2000 instead of NT4 in terms of stability usability ... I you ask me NT4 seem to me kinda old, and they certanly look so. What do you think?

ASUS A7V8X mobo and Optorite 52/24/52 cd burner not working
Tomay replied to Mjollnir79's topic in Hardware
Did you try changing the ide cable. Try connecting it to the connector that is closer to the mobo connector (master). Try all combinations. -
I don't have my via based system here, but you could try changing the agp driving strength. But be careful you can damage the card. Look for geforceFAQ or some place else to get the info about it.
-
Both open in few seconds. No problem here.

You forgot win2k3. It's the fastest microsoft os since windows 2000. If you use it as a workstation it beats win2000 and xp.

Just got a new comp. So far everything went good. q3, 3dmark2001SE, sisoft sandra... The problem occurs when running cpu-tests in 3dmark03. Sometimes the screen just goes blank and you can hear the (error) sound. I can't see the mesage but it will probably look like this 3dmark03.exe has generated an error ... The only thing I can do then is press the power button. The windows shuts down correctly (no checkdisk in next boot) I have dx9.0a, 3dmark 03 build 330 (latest), latest bios, cats, drivers... XP pro sp1 ASUS P4P800 Celeron 2.4 2x transcendent DDR (not running in dual channel mode) Maxtor 6Y080L0 Radeon 9600 128MB LG burner

Found out what the problem was. I ran too tight timings. My ram can't handle 2-5-2-2 and pifast gives me errors. But 2-5-3-2 or 2-5-2-3 run ok. But the ram was very cheap so I can live with that.

Go to http://www.epson.co.uk/support/download/ and select multifunction devices and under model select yours and click on search. There is no xp driver but you can try the win2000 one.

Had a similar problem, but in the end I found out it was my network card. If you can hook up another computer too see if the same happens.

It's just a guess but since it's quite an old graphic card in a new system it could be that it's not getting enough power. You might try to increase the agp voltage in your bios. But first read your mobo manufacturers faq. BTW: Do you have latest chipset drivers installed. WARNING: increasing your agp voltage might damage your system.
