well if u seen my last post about the harddrive problem..which i figured out..this problem i think is from that.i used the hardware for my new harddrive to ghost copy my other drive to new one,and now im having problems with my microsoft sidewinder gamepad.it will show in control panel..but after i go into properties.windows says it has lost connection with it..once i enter the game(in this case madden 2002)the controller doesnt work,and it always worked before i did the disk copy..so im assuming MAYBE its a directX problem..but cant find the directX for XP..anyone know how to reinstall Directx from the CD..or where i can download it...

well guys,i found out what was wrong..awhile back i had set the primary ide channel to none on the 2nd device.being i didnt have a 2nd device on that ribbon..thinking that would help speed up boot..so i caught it today when i had more time to look thru system...so it was USER ERROR :(thx for ur repsonses guys

hi guys,im new to the forum.but have been reading it last few days and gained some useful things,now...i REALLY need ur help..i bought a new drive today WD 40 gig..and am going to use my maxtor 13 gig to store stuff on and to take it out to transfer stuff from work to home..heres the problem..BIOS detects both drives no probs..but XP doesnt show 2nd drive.i have WD set as master,and maxtor as slave..both on 80 pin IDE ribbon udma 100..i installed the WD drive as slave to begin with,so i could copy all the info from original drive to it so as to make it the master/boot drive..which worked fine..WD is master,and boots and has everything exactly as original drive did..i have tried every jumper setting possible..still no go..plz help,thx in advance
