    XvT and W2k

I had problems with Win98 layer using Application compatibility toolkit, it wouldn't detect my joystick. So I removed the old custom database, and did a win98 layer fix after de-selecting emulateJoystick. Ironically that worked. Just remember to launch QFixApp (and leave running) before running the game. (i did the fix for both files, so I can run the game through the default shortcut)

    Best Space Game Ever?

Star Control 2 is clearly the best space game. They need to remake it for Win9x!!! (so all of you who haven't played it can realize what a good game it is) This is the best space game, *happy campers*, and for all who disagree, it is *dancing*!!! (you'd have to have played it to get that last line)

    Best Win2000 Compatible Multiplayer games

I'd rank Starcraft an 8 (which is a good score considering I'm not much of an RTS fan) So far here are the Windows 2000 compatible LAN MULTIPLAYER game rankings (on a scale of 1 to 10) averages in []'s Forsaken 10 [10] Unreal Tournament: 10/8 [9] Starcraft Broodwar: 10/8 [9] System Shock 2: 9 [9] Quake ]I[: Arena 9/8 [8.5] Rogue Spear: 8 [8] Serious Sam: 8 [8] Re-Volt Demo: 7 [7] Star Trek Armada: 6 [6] MS Hearts: 2 [2] any one have any opinions on these games or Star Wars 1: Racer, X-wing Alliance, or any other games? Best Win2000 Compatible Multiplayer games

All I'm asking for is everyones favorite MULTIPLAYER over LAN (Compatible with Win2000) game, with a rating (1-10): Excluding single player quality, and internet play quality. So this thread could serve as a basis for those wondering what games are best for LAN MULTIPLAY. If the thread gets huge, I'll post the games with there ratings averaged, if such a thread already exists, please point me to it. Thanks.

SB Live and Pod racer problems

I put off posting the 'bug fix' to be sure it worked. I change views using the hat switch (change of view triggers the bug) like it's a turbo button, and no problems. I finally decide to post my results, and the next time I play, there's the bug! So, apparently, this (the above mentioned "fix") only REDUCES the all-one-color-screen racer bug in Win2000 (if that). If anyone has better results, please post them.

SB Live and Pod racer problems

The SWEP1RCR.EXE file is in the RACER directory. I left the RACER.EXE file alone, and still use the shortcut to the RACER.EXE file (the default racer shortcut)

SB Live and Pod racer problems

(Not for the SB Live problem, but for star wars: racer) I think I've determined a way to eliminate the all-one-color-screen-except-for-the-HUD-during-racing problem when running racer in Win2000. Note: I had already tried using the Win95/Win98 compatibility mode (without ACT 1.5 of course), and had the latest compatability upgrade installed. I used QFixApp from the Application Compatibility Toolkit verson 1.5 (for Win2000) With it, I created a fix support file using the default Win98 Layer of fixes for the "SWEP1RCR.EXE" file. Now all I need to do is _launch_QFixApp_and_leave_it_running_ in the backround before running racer (through the default shortcut) (the bug still happened if QFixApp wasn't running in background) I can even uninstall the support fix with "add/remove programs" ACT 1.5 can be found at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/compatibility/default.asp Just be sure to click the link for the right OS. Read up on its requirements before installing. (be aware it needs SP2) I don't know if there are consequences from the use of any QFixApp fixes, so use_at_your_own_risk. By selecting the fixes tab and then clicking the bug fix title, you can read a description about the fixes--I suggest doing so, so that you are aware what your system is doing/emulating/made vulnerable to. If anyone knows of any possible problems using such fixes, please post the info. Microsoft website said it currently supports ACT 1.5. So, there you have it. Hope this helps someone else.
