Hi, Hi have a win2k3 Domain Controller which is connected to 3 PC via an ethernet switch. What I want to do is have a program running on the DC that collects all my the emails for all the my various email accounts on my ISP's email server and then I want Outlook on the 3 client PC to connect to the DC to dowload my emails from the DC instead of downloading straight from the ISP's email server which is whats happening now and then distrubute the emails it's downloaded to my 3 PCs I don't really want to go down the MS Exchange root as thats far too complex for my needs. Is this possible? Does anyone know of a program that I can install on my DC that will achieve the above? Many thanks in advance, Terry

I have a weird problem. I have 4 hard disks connected to my raid controller, but not in raid array. They are: 1x Maxtor 40 gb, 1x Segate 40gb, 1x Maxtor 20gb and 1 x WDC 20gb. The problem that i'm having is that when ever I copy a large file to my F: drive (maxtor 20gb) the data in the file is corrupt. I've tried various latency patches but they haven't seemed to work. I've moved the disk around to other controllers and that hasn't seemed to work either. When copying large file between my other 3 hard drives, there are no problems. This problem is driving me mad. Can anyone suggest what the problem is or a fix? I'm looking into buying a new gfx card in the next couple of weeks. At the moment I have an old GF 2 GTS 32mb. my PC is running a Athlon Tb 1.2 ghz and 512 mb of pc133 ram. I was wondering which card to go for the gf4 or the new 9500 pro? Which card would be more suited to my relitivley old set up? What sort of speed improvement can I hope to see with one of the above cards? And which in your opinions is better? Your thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks peps TEL

HI I'm having a problem with windows xp pro. Every so often I get a crash and it blue screens on me. The BSOD message is: IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and at the bottom of the page ARE these numbers:- 0x0000000a (0xE16A5C48, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8057F543) Does anybody know what this means and why my pc is crashing, or does anybody know How I can find out? there doesn't seem to be an enable cd recording tab under the cdrw properties

HI I've just reinstalled windows xp pro. Now when I insert a blank cd the autoplay dialogue pops up asking me would i like to create a disk with nero. What I was wondering was how do I activate windows own inbuilt cd recording software? Before i reinstalled xp when I inserted a blank cd, I used to get the option of using xp's recording software. Now when i try to open my cdrw drive with a blank cd in it, it's says please insert a cd ! So it obviously doesn't recongise the fact that there is a blank cd in the drive like it used to. I'm having a problem with my toshiba sdm 1212 dvd rom drive and windows xp pro. When the drive is in dma mode 2 I get errors copying files from it and it will not play dvds or anything inserted. The error says something about an i/o error occuring. But as soon as I put it in PIO mode it works fine, but in this mode dvd and audio playback are choppy and When i try to copy files from it the computer slows right down. I believe this drive is a DMA mode 2 device (ata 33), that's what it says when my computer boots up and in the bios, so why can't I use it in dma mode 2 in win xp? thanks in advance TEL

Yes and also another thing I've just remembered. I applied the generated key before I installed sp1 to windows XP and went to windows update before installing sp1 final and got the same message mentioned above, it didn't even list sp1 final as a downloadable upgrade for my pc. I had to download sp1 final from other source. So is there a way to get windows update working again?

Yes I know I'm using an illegal copy, but then again alot of people are. Is there any way I can get windows update working again? Before the final sp1 was released on sept 9th I had sp1 build 1102 installed and when I went to windows update it still listed media player 9 beta and .net framework as updates, but now it doesn't even list them, so it seems to me that windows update isn't working on my pc. HI Folks I have a problem that I hope you lot can help me with. I'm running a corp version of xp (Devils own) and wanted to upgrade to sp1. Knowing this wasn't possible with the key that I had ( the FCKGW one), I got hold of the bluelist key generator and generated a bluelisted cd key. I then installed sp1 final, this went without a problem, but now when I click on windows update, it takes me to the page and when I click on 'scan for updates' it searches and quickly counts to 100 % and says 'there are no updates availible for your computer, check back later' Is this because I'm running a corp version of windows xp and microsoft has blocked my cd key, even tho' I generated it using the bluelist key gen and sp1 installed fine? I was under the impression that a bluelisted cd key wouldn't be blocked by MS and could still use windows update to grab the latest updates or am I completely wrong? If this is the case is there a way around it? Making windows update work again? Thanks in advance TEL

I have a raid mobo, so my dvd and cdrom drivess are both masters on the primary and secondary ide channels, my hhds are on the ide raid channels. In device manager it says that my cdrw drive is functioning in 'multi word dma mode 2' and my dvd rom drive is 'ultra dma mode 2'. I can't figure out why one minute there're working fine and then I have a system crash and there're not showing up in 'my computer' Beats me

Hi yer folks I need your help urgently. I have an abit kt7a and I'm running windows xp pro and I have a dvd rom drive and a cdrw drive. I had a BSOD crash, it said something about win32k.sys (I didn't get to read it all before my pc rebooted like it does) and when my PC finally rebooted my cdrom drives had disappeared from the MY COMPUTER window!!!!. I've tried everything to get them back, uninstalling the cdroms and the interface within HARDWARE DEVICE MANAGER and letting windows scan for changes to find them again which it does, but still my cdrom drives are nowhere to be found. I've tried norton systemworks, thinking it could help me, but it didn't. Please can a knowledgeble person out there come to my aid. I'm hoping that I won't have to do a fresh install of windows xp as I did that about a week ago and have just got everything back the the way it was before the clean install Many many thanks in advance TEL PS does anybody know if it's possible to reinstall windows xp over the old copy like you could with windows 98? I've looked into doing this by booting from the cd. It only seems to give the option of wiping your windows folder (with all your settings and registry). With windows 98 you could reinstall windows and none of your installed programs or settings where harmed. Thanks once again.
