I am trying to upgrade from win98se to Xp. When I try to install XP I get an Error message during the install "Error: Installation Failed: D:\i386\asms. Error Message: The parameter is incorrect."
My System is:
Motherboard : Gigabyte Ga-7dxr
CPU : AMD 1.4 761/via 686b
Ram : 2 Micron 256MB DDR ECC REG PC2100
HD : Maxtor EIDE 20GB UDMA66
VID : 3dfx Voodoo 5500 AGP
Sound: Sound blaster live Xgamer CT4760
I removed my Sb card and tried an install and got the same error message so I know it isn't the sb card conflicts that I have read about. I also tried an install from a clean reformatted hd and recieved the same error, so it isn't something in 98se.
Anyone seen this before?
