As said before this is not a bug of Internet Explorer, but a setting under Folder Options. Scroll down to 'Managing Pairs Of Web Pages And Folders' and you have 3 options: 1. Show and manage the pair as a single file 2. Show both parts and manage them individually 3. Show both parts but manage as a single file lastly, choose whatever is best for you. Default option is 1.

try WinAce (www.winace.com), it supports spanning for popular media (3.5 disk, zip disk etc) and you can specify the size (in kb) you want it to span the archive. freeware/shareware too...

I've played the demo of NFS: Underground and got mixed feelings... thank god, the handling of the car is nowhere near NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 (forget about Colin McRae1/2/3). I'd dare say it's worse than NFS: Porsche Unleashed - so, i'd put it somewhere in between. The graphics are very very nice, lots of realistic reflections on the demo, and at 1024*768 my lowly mx440 had no problems (playing NFS: Hot Pursuit 2 at 1024*768 is still a distant dream). Also the drag race is a really cool feature...you have a giant rev meter on the left, plus a nitro:p device........when you pick up speed try not to crash onto other cars, like me....ehehe. But I wouldn't buy the game........yet another NFS clone??? if i can count them correctly there has been: Need For Speed Need For Speed 2 (no cop cars!) Need For Speed 2: Special Edition (3Dfx support, more cars, more tracks) Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit Need For Speed 4: High Stakes Need For Speed 5: Porsche Unleashed (most realistic handling of all, imo) Need For Speed 6: Hot Pursuit 2 Need For Speed 7: Underground 8 car race games, none with a car handling that resembles reality, can't they just quit it........

for you that don't know what it is, it's an add-on PCI card, that will either enable you to run your HDDs at ATA100 mode, or enable you add another 4 HDDs on your system. But the damned thing doesn't tell your motherboard that your HDDs are reading/writing!....so, i looked for a way to hook up a LED, but neither does the manual, neither the website. So, I emailed them (support@promise.nl, european support), and the reply was rather swift (2 days) and said that a led can be connected to pins 3 and 4 of the 4 pin connector that is on the card. Pins 1 and 2 are reserved (or do nothing, i dare guess). And thus I can add another colour LED and fulfill my dream of converting my PC to a Christmas tree......... PS. By the way, if any of you also onws a Promise Ultra100 TX2, would you care to elaborate on the configuration of your system and how the HDDs that are hooked up on the Ultra100 are performing.... best regards, tsonta101

just email their support dept. and ask them what the 4pin connector does..... if you can't be asked (and feel a bit risky) connect the cable to pins 3-4, it might be the same case.............

The easy part: I am leaping to an Athlon 2500+ (from my ageing Thunderbird 1.3GHz) in September. The hard part: Choosing a new mobo! Now, I have been reading EVERY review on zillions of sites and I have almost maden up my mind. My canditade list has been shortened to this: Abit NF7-S v2.0 nForce2 MSI KT6 Delta-FISR KT600 Asus A7V600 Asus A7N8X-X nForce2 / Deluxe Soltek SL-KT600-R Gigabyte GA-7N400L1 well all of them have USB2, some of the have Firewire, 5/6 PCI slots, LAN (the MSI has gigaLAN I think) and sound on board (I will be getting an Audigy though). Now if you have one of the above mentioned mobos, tell me about overclocking and stability issues, configuration issues, something you liked or disliked about it, anything. Moreover, any other of you who is really satifsied from their mobo, please do post your opinion. I will make my final choice according to pricing/availability and your posts of course. I've been listening to a cd by 'Las Burbujitas Imeccables' (do not try to look them up in Amazon, these people are probably known only in Greece - only by chance though ) So, I was wondering what does 'burbujitas' mean? 'impeccables' should be 'impeccable', right? any ideas??? thanks for any time you take off work to think about this stupid request!

so we have 1 US galon = 0.83270 imperial gallon = 3.78544 lt Given that, I pay 0.71 euros per litre over here in Greece, which would equate to 2.68 euros (1.84 GBP and 2.02 US dollars, using yesterday's exchange rates) per US gallon. [The equivalent for an imperial gallon of gas would be 3.2 euros (or 2.2 GBP and 2.4 US dollars)] So, $2.15 isn't bad from what i see, but what would be a 'fair' price to pay for a gallon? AndyFair, I sympathise.....I've lived in the UK for 5 years and the taxes on alcohol, smokes, petrol, to mention a few, is unbelievably high... and by the way, what car is that that needs 60 quid to fill up? Mine has a 45lt tank and it takes roughly 31 GBP to fill up) well it could be worse though, actually it is, if you lived over here the basic salary you would get would only be 528 euros per month (363 GBP or 396 US dollars)... so things over here have to be cheap, or else.....

strange thing, but all i had to to to get nfs5 to work was to delete gimme.dll. Before deleting all i would see was a black screen, after deleting that file everything was ok. I know i am not being helpful though...

I am still driving around in my dad's car, a Renault 19 (phase I, '92). It's a small little car, pics here and here (note: i couldn't be bothered getting pics of my car, so I got these off Renault19World). It's a small 4d car, call it saloon or family car, a 1.4lt engine with 80hp and a top speed of 170Km/h (roughly 106mp/h).... Still looking into getting a Honda Civic (here), after all I am only 26. This car is coming hopefully in Christmas, when I hope to have enough dough to get it (that is if I DON'T upgrade my machine and waste a month's salary....again.....) is there a smiley for vroom, vroooooooom???

Are you trying to compare the ample wattage of your speakers from your old stereo with 4watt satellites and a 20watt woofer? Well, maybe the old stereo speakers produce better, clearer, more precise sound to your ears. What they CANNOT give you, (contrary to your 4.1 ACS54 system) is the feeling of that rocket coming to you from behing in Q3. Nor do the same in many movies - i.e. the scene in Independece Day where major cities are attacked by a rain of meteors coming from all directions - and you CAN tell where they are coming from! By the way, what brand and model are those speakers in your old stereo?

i might not be a moderator, but as others will tell you as well, this board does not endorse exchange of software/serials. If you really like the software, buy it or look for that serial number elsewhere....

Is this allowed? I mean a new user, his/her first post and they tell you to go and see their software... it's not like APK's case (his tools are free, if memory serves me ok), this is commercial software. So once, again, is this allowed?

is this office xp? I have had this problem with office xp - exactly the same as you mate. You would double click file (word or excel type) that resided on the server, the host app would open up (Word or Excel respectively) and that was it. After a while though, a message box would come up and ask for the Office XP CD, because some crap feature was not installed. Of course that would happen even with an empty word doc or excel sheet . You'd insert the Office cd, it would update whatever and that was the end of it.

You can't print screen a movie mate! You have to use a video editing tool, such as Adobe Premiere or Ulead MediaStudio, OR VirtualDub (which is free ) Get it from http://www.virtualdub.org/, unzip it to a folder and run it. Open the video file and find the frame you want. Click File, then Save as Video Still or Save as Frame (I do not remember exactly) and there you have it!!!

Does the CRC error come up when the file copying is almost over? Or right from the beginning or at random points? I am asking because the same has happened to me, BUT i was using 80min cdrs, overburned to 82mins.... so you see that the mp3 was there on the list, but some of them were not actually written properly on the disc -- i do recollect that nero had said that everything was recorded ok.
