Ok, firstly its formatted to NTFS. Thanks for everyones suggestions, I'll try them after I finish work. Hopefully my next installation will last longer than 2 weeks. Thanks.

Damn it, I renamed the file and it got a little further but then gave me the finger with a BSOD, saying that the computer was stopped to prevent further damage to the system. You might be right about it thinking it is a hard-drive, can I install over the top rather than format? I have lots of stuff I need to keep. Could it be a virus? I have Macaffe antivirus 6.0 but haven't done a full scan for some time. Could it be anything to do with the VIA busmaster drivers for the KT266a chipset? I hear they can cause corruption. Should I not install the iomega drivers from the iomega web-site in future? Sorry for all the questions.

Last known configuration did the same

This is the strange thing, I hadn't installed anything recently. I'll try to rename the iomega file and see if that works. It just started happening today. The first thing I did after finding out that driver wasn't starting was to check the cables and so forth, even disconnecting everything but the essentials makes no difference. I'll let you know what happens with the file renaming. Thanks for your reply.

Ok, I don't know what has happend at all, I turned my computer on about 10 mins ago and it loads up to the windows loading screen, the screen then goes black as if it was just about to load the desktop but stays black with no activity at all. I can't even load safe mode it just hangs on loading "iomdisk.sys" which is the zip drive driver I think. Please someone help. -------------------- Windows XP Professional Athlon 1800+ XP 512MB RAM Soltek 75DRV2 Motherboard Asus V7700 Deluxe Geforce 2 GTS VIVO AC'97 Onboard Sound Dlink 100Mb Network Card Zip Drive 100 USB 40gb Quantum HDD

I know this is quite a popular post here, I have a Sound Blaster Live! CT4620 and have had it for nearly 4 years, and was very happy with until I got Windows XP Professional from work. I'm suffering from all the common problems, sound stuttering and generally poor quality from certain games because I have a Soltek 75DRV2 KT266/a chipset motherboard. I have looked at the SonicFury and Hercules Game Theater XP becaues of the good reviews. What cards do you guys recommend for good drivers and features equivalent to the SBLive? Same problem here, all you can is remove each device driver one by one until it stops happening. I'm beginning to suspect my Asus drivers for my v7700 deluxe, but who knows it could also be something to do with the sound blaster live. Someone let us know if they can narrow downt he problem. Ok, it was Daemon Tools. Thanks. This error message came up about a minute after unistalling and reinstalling. IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Sounds like a problem with that dodgy virtual SCSI device.

I too have got this stupid system tray icon problem, it's really annoying and the pausing of the task bar. I have system works 2002 installed uninstalling it makes no difference. Does anyone else have any good suggestions? P.s -> rgodart, what the hell is this tray maging? I can't find anything remotely like that in Norton 2002 system works. Has it fixed your icons properly?

Cyberguru, Get Sandra 2001 Professional from this link. Please, don't post any w4rez links here. Thank you. EDITED BY clutch Well I've turned off 'automatic restart' so when I get the error again i'll write it down or read the sys log. I'll increase the page size and i've unistalled Daemon Tools so we'll see what happens. It crashed the other day without winamp running so it's probably nothing to do with that. Thanks for your help shassouneh. I'll post any new developements.

More details.... Hope this helps, it seems to always happen when I'm running internet explorer 6.0 and dailed up to my ISP, a lot of the time winamp will also be playing. I have only the asus control panel loaded in the background, BlackICE defender and Daemon Tools 2.80 running.
