    Unbloating XP

And my answer would be - CDR's are 25c each right now Oh, you mean my 10-CD DriveImage Image-sets are un-usual? You should see my fileserver backup -Larry Quote: Well! I've got quite an answer for you, my friend Now i can use norton ghost on my windows/application partition, and burn the image to a cd-r. I think that's a good enough reason to strip down those few extra 100-200 megabytes. /T

    Unbloating XP

My objective is not to be a smart-aleck, and my question is truly based on the reality of the situation... What's the point? I just bought an 80GB Maxtor D740X ATA/133 drive that included the ATA/133 interface for $229. Anyone who has a machine capable of running XP should not be in a position to have an issue with hard drive space, even with the majority of drives supplied with OEM computers these days. Just curious... Though I can understand wanting to get rid of some of this junk for useability reasons. Anyone figured out if Windows Messaging can be removed safely? That one bugs the hell out of me... TL Quote: I just reformated and installed XP Pro. 2 gigs for an install?!!! Can someone tell me how to get rid of some of this trash. The "add-remove programs" tab doesnt allow too much removing (win98 had better digging around options). I was able to remove MSN crap but freakin messenger is still about and I dont use front page either.
