Is it possible under WinXP to set a different language for a particular non-unicode program instead of going to control panel and modifying it for all non-unicode programs? If so how do you do this? Thanks in advanced

Hi. I got 3 computers at home and I'm trying to connect it to a LAN. My main computer the one I am typing from now has two network cards one connected to my cable internet provider one connected to my hub the other two PC's are connected to the same hub. The main computer can access the internet and so can one of the other 2 computers but the last one cannot access the net but it can see computer number 2 (Not the server). They respective ip's are 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3. The first being the server can ping itself and the second but not the last one. The second can ping all computers the last one can ping itself and the second one. What am I doing wrong? Any advice appreciated. All 3 computers are running Windows 2000 Professional. Thanks in advanced.

A few issues with my ATA 100 HDD and win2k with SP2 Via Bus IDE Master does not detect the drive Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers in device manager there is only Via BM Ultra DMA channel and Via Bus Master ATA Controller I thought there was suppose to be 3 Poor performance with HD Tach At one stage it was at 22ms seek. 8) but now it's on 13.3 after defrag. Still I was suspecting better performance. Any ideas what's going on?

Just tried HDTach with my new rig and the results were shocking. I was getting max transfer of 31MB/sec and cpu utilization 64% I remember doing alot better in Win2K. Anyone know what's wrong? Specs below

Quote: The IDE tool is included with the miniport drivers on the via website, a direct link to the download is: http://downloads.viaarena.com/drivers/others/IDE_MPD3014.zip PS: When your computer boots up what does it say in the POST screen, with reference to hard drives or IDE controllers, does it say what DMA mode is being use for your hard disk. Nope it doesn't say the dma mode it's on. The hard disk is detected when it's trying to detect ATA100 and Raid drives (I have a Raid mobo). With the IDE tool I only see my dvd and cd rewriter and not my hard disk.

Quote: The program for altering your UDMA properties is called the Via DMA tool and is included with the VIA IDE miniport and is available from: http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2 Try installing this and see if it makes it any better. Ok I've tried installing latest 4 in 1 drivers. Played with bios and still no option. BTW I can't find the Via Dma tool can you give me the direct link. Thanks

Ok I looked at the IDE controllers and I don't see such options. I've updated my bios and all UDMA settings in my bios was already set to auto (Had a choice of Auto or disabled) any ideas?
