Is the internal firewall software running on your machines? If it is that would explain why you would not be able to ping or browse the other machines on your network. To check or disable the firewall option in XP right click on your "Local Area Connection" icon and select properties than click the "Advanced" tab. Hope this helps your problem. Bob
