How to get CD-Rom drive to support UDMA mode?

Hi Ralf an Bottleneck, Thanks for the advice. Will try both hardware and registry to see if it will work. Get back to you guys if it doesn't. Thanks.
  2. Hi, I have an Aopen CD-956E cd-rom drive attached to a CMD ATA-100 controller card as primary master but I couldn't set it to support UDMA mode, it shows as PIO mode only even though I have chosen "DMA if available" in the device manager and that the cd-rom does support UDMA33. Is there some changes to be made in the registry(and how?) or I should open up the PC to confirm the hardware setting like jumpers, etc. Here's additional info on my setup: Pentium 3, 1ghz window XP Pro Intel 850 mobo 2 X ATA100 HD on onboard controller, pri-master & sec-master 1 x CD-Rom Drive on CMD ATA100 controller card, pri-master 1 x CD-RW Drive on CMD ATA conroller card, sec-master All other settings are fine and CD-Rom okay. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

    Change Drive letter

Hi, I was using Partition Magic 7.0 to re-partition my second physical drive into two partition and formated under NTFS. Ultimately I wanted this layout: 1st HD drive: C(for OS) 2nd HD drive: D(for Swap file) E(for storage) CD-ROM: F CD-RW: G Unfortunately drive: "E(for storage)" partition was assigned with drive-letter:G. So how do I re-assign it back to drive-letter:E ? Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
