Sampson, it is actaully the exact same error, the only thing that changes is the program name. "program.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You must restart the program" This also happened when i tried to install my Audigy drivers, I think it tried to write some registry settings and then it happened .. but the Audigy install continued like nothing happened, and works fine.. -neural

hey guys. Have a problem, I've noticted quite a few things I open come up with the error "program.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You must restart the program" something along those lines (where program.exe is a name of any program). This most notably happens when i try to play Medal of Honor Allied Assault. What happens in that game is when I am loading the map right before it finishes loading, my Windows Taskbar shows up at the bottom and the program freezes then that error comes up. I am using SMP. my system specs are as follows Tyan Tiger MP 2x 1600MP's 512mb ram Adaptec 39160 scsi Cheetah x15 36LP 18.4gig UltraPLEX 40x reader PlexWriter 40x GF4 4400 3ware 7210 RAID/ 1 120gb WD1200JB Windows 2000 This is more or less a fresh install. Haven't had this problem on my other Win2k machines. I have been installing most of my software on my 120gb drive F. Which I wouldn't think would cause this problem. Again this happens on more than just MoHAA, when I was installing my Audigy drivers, it did the same thing but somehow the installer kept going. My error log doesn't say anything too exciting, i have a Dr. Watson entry that says something about some API call .. not too informative for me though .. thanks in advance for any help .. -neural

You could edit boot.ini or reinstall, if you choose to reinstall then make sure you press F6 at boot up. If you dont reinstall, install the drivers first. then you can boot with say a 98bootdisk, and edit the boot.ini file, I believe replacing ur line with this line should work [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(1)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT [operating systems] multi(1)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional" /fastdetect remember to back it up, but that should work, reinstalling will work .. good luck .. -neural

I'm fairly experienced in dvd stuff and no there isnt a set standard, but the DVR-A03 is a great choice, it is actaully the "Defacto choice", heh or general consensus of all .. dvd .. dvdr users=) .. it will suit whatever you need it for .. good luck .. -neural -Oh ya, you can get the DVR-A03 a lot cheaper than 420$ .. look on pricewatch, you can find it for ~$370 ..

I have a situation where I have a vpn setup on a win2k server, the server unfortunately is on Dial-up and has a dhcp ip address. I need to administer it via terminal services, it is up most of the time, however as I said it is dhcp. So I need a way to get the IP, does anyone know of a tool I can use for this, or maybe some vb/c++/c# source code for this? as i have VS.NET. If it only emails me its address whenever it logs on, would be fine, or if its a two part program, is fine .. heh no I dont want to use bo or anything like that, well any help would be appreciated .. thanks -neural

you can use CDRWIN, it does not use the ASPI .. i suggest getting an aspi though, just wnaspi32.dll will work, but do a search on google for "Forceaspi 1.7", use its, its basically the adaptec aspi drivers, works well, good luck .. -neural

This may be a dumb question, but i just "stumbled" on this this program .. i was kinda bored, and trying to find my cluster size, used chkdsk (forgot in win2k its diff from dos), like i said bored, half-asleep, started throwing random command names at it, and i threw "cluster" and it returned all this .. stuf .. and im and I'm just wondering what this command is intended for , "cluster/?" isnt very useful .. thanks in advance .. -neural

see if there is an updated driver/bios for your raid controller, there should be, also you can do it this way regardless .. if you cant get it to install correctly, try installing it to one harddrive, normally, install drivers for raid controller through windows, make a ghost image of this, then make your raid array, power up, and install the ghost image on the raid array, this should work .. unless there is an issue with the controller and 2k, which there shouldnt be .. try the updated drivers/bios first .. good luck .. -neural

well the main problem "via bug", was one that turned up in large ide transfers, thats what im aware, yes thats a creative chipset, could very well be a 4in1 issue .. but have my suspiscion that it could be what i posted before, at any rate, a turtle beach could fix this nicely i think=) .. good luck .. -neural

what else do you have running, besides windows services, and does it still happen if you uninstall the driver? .. -neural

no, you can resize your ntfs partition (do a search for "Partition Resizer", its free and resizes ntfs partitions) decrease the size of ur current partition, then in ur Disk Administrator snap-in, create another partition, format it as FAT32, store your mp3's on that partition, good luck .. -neural

you can rename the Administrator acount, in the local group policy, to RavishingRocket and delete ur current account, samething basically, the guest account is disabled by default anyway, and about deleting the directory, is this a network share? are you doing it as Admin? if not do you have permision? -neural
