i have one dell Latitude C400 notebook and the last days every time i use stand by the computer goes to stand by but when i press the power button the power led it turns on but nothink else happend.i defrag disk,upgrade-downgrade bios,install again chipset drivers ,remove -reinstall sp1 but it did not work. any suggestions...????? ps.i can not format this computer because its my boss computer.

ok.i found what is wrong.it was the video drivers(intel 830m).now it works ok

install your motherboard service pack,and then reinstall your audio drivers.what is your motherboard chipset?i guess is intel.

i have sonys recorder for 4 monthes now and i dont have any problems.(xbox backup-ps2 backup-movies backup)

check with company's web site.the most company's have recovery tools for the hd.also try somethink like norton utilities to repair the disk, or ghost to backup your disk to another one, usualy the image of the bad hd works and it will you let take backup of the files.Remember to check ignore errors to ghost options.

i will agree with DS3Circuit.the HP 2200 DN its fast with no problems and its easy to configure.

i will agree with duhmez.i have 1,5gb ram and i set my swapfile to 100mb. no problem at all, and the system run fine.but if you use programs like maya,3dmax etc. you need more swapfile....

i use norton 2003 to all istallations but if you have workgroup\domain i think that norton corporate 8 is better.(if you have money to pay)

almost nothink changes from 4x to 8x.after all your motherboard supports 8x?

what version of windows?i have see the same problem again and try to fixit form registry but no lack.so i reinstall sp1 and it works(xp)

i had the same problem but it was the nvidia drivers(43.03).now with the new (43.45) i dont have tis problem

look is there is a jumper to switch the controller from raid to ata function.

i just dont like onboard devices....

no.your motherboard is from elite group(ecs) but uses sis735 chipset.you cannot install 4in1 dirvers because is for via chipset only.but you can use sis chipset update drivers.

Two days now a have a problem.When i open ie pages with popup message the popup message window is black.I notice that the most times the window contents is in java.I have allready try to install ie6 sp1-microsoft virtual machine-sp3(win 2000)-opera 7(has the same problem)-java virtual machine.But the problem continue.Any suggections?

I agree with clutch. the tweak ui has the autologon option and from there you can logon to domain. remember to add your computer to nt server.(administration tools-server manager-add)

try to unistall the sims pack(s) and reinstall them again. for some reason cant find the informations that the new installation need. backup your saves first

the a50 it has a sis 6326 chipset. so try to download drivers from sis site. http://download.sis.com/sisdlc/driver_list.jsp good luck

No problem with me to install it.but i have sp3 installed... So i think that you need to install sp3 Also try to run msicuu.exe from microsoft web site and then reinstall windows installer.The msicuu.exe is the clean up program for windows installer.
