Hellbender for Win 95 doesn't work under XP compatibility
Shakti replied to HenryHay's topic in Games
It runs perfect on my machine with XP english version, installed with Windows ME, and then used the rightclick compatibility mode W95 but only to stop my usb joystick from behaving weird. If you need more info, feel free to ask, this game was a classic for me for many hours\days also. The only thing is thats maybe impossible to install through XP, but than you might be able just to copy the files to harddrive, because the game doesnt write anything into the registry. -
aezrulzz first disc, setup.exe klick on it and be happy, lol

1. Give me a DVD-Ram Drive 2. Be happy
-
Yes, same drive, same hardware. W2K by itself seems not compatible with DVD-Ram without other software.

Hi, does someone know how to read a DVD-Ram recorded by a Panasonic standalone recorder under Windows 2000? It`s no problem under Windows XP, even using explorer, but a no go under W2K. Any help welcome. Also suggestions for tools or programs which could help.

Does someone know how to remove the tv logo after capturing in mpg format? For avi format one can use logoaway, so i am looking for a similar tool.

Yes Ali, maybe thats the solution, i agree with you, there is nothing a newbie cant do with it, hehe. My girlfriend calls everything disc, no matter what it is, floppy, CD, DVD, even other electronic devices, so....

For me its W2K all the way, having problems with xp right from the start (betatester). W2K is faster in rendering mpg4, uses less resources, doesnt need activation (whatever that is...), lets me install new hardware without reactivation (see above), has not 20 spywares installed per default from ms, is rockstable and in my eyes its the os ms has put most care in, as it was the first merging of nt and w9x. Beside that i use server 2003 rc2, but only once in a month to nourish my W2K from the outside.

As i am not using xp anymore, i sold my copy of xp professional and use windows 2000 and server 2003 testversion, i am not familiar with xp home edition. But from what i had on my share of problems with xp, could it be that these poor users just fall in a trap-bug from xp home, maybe 1 false click and they lock the door themselves, unknowingly???? Do they use a simple freeware firewall like yonealarm or sygate personal firewall?

These Daemon Tools guys belong to this category, they sell their product as an advanced version with up to 20 or 40 virtual drives under a different name, and keep the free version for private users, they also have a brilliant support forum for private users mostly concerned with game-backups and anti copy protections.

XP Refresh Rate Problem with 1280x1024

Gratulations and happy gaming! -
Sorry the article is in german, but to cut a long thing short, they testet it and found it very helpful, they even offer a download of sample-spam which can be used by Mozilla to learn what spam is. http://www.hardtecs4u.com/reviews/2003/mozilla1.3/ I use Mailwasher free edition and it does not filter too much (means some get through).

Hello, i would like to be of help for you, but do not fully get what you mean. Is it a problem being online and get a trojan or is it people leaving their seat and someone sneaks and plays a joke to them?

Hi, i am using norton antivirus since long, didnt have a virus last 3 years. Not even have it running in memory anymore, because it slowed down starting of programs, just use it to check downloaded files.

Daemon Tools mount almost ANYTHING and get freqently updated, they could be used also to satisfy not so well burned backups of game-cds. Here a link:http://www.daemon-tools.net/main.htm
