Guest Posted January 24, 2001 For several reasons i've had to, over time, take some NICs out and put some NICs into my computer. So now I'm getting Local Area Connection #2 - #4, and Ethernet Adapter bla bla #2 -#4. I'm just wondering how I clean out Windows so that it recognizes the two NIC cards in the box as the two NIC cards that were ever in the machine. Get it? Share this post Link to post
n4cer 0 Posted January 25, 2001 Try going to Add/Remove Hardware in the Control Panel. Choose to "Uninstall/Unplug a device", then choose "Uninstall a device". A list of devices should now appear, you may have to check the "Show hidden devices" box to make sure your old LAN cards show up. After that just select the one you want and press "Next". To remove more than one device you'll have to go through this more than once. Hope this helps. Share this post Link to post
Down8 0 Posted January 25, 2001 Or, if you're talking about the list of network devices when you go to 'Network Neighborhood" > 'Properties', then you can just select them and hit the 'Delete' key. Worked for me. -bZj Share this post Link to post
