ShaneK 0 Posted February 21, 2001 I'm wondering if anyone has determined the most efficient login scripts? We have been using KixTart and it is up to 30+ pages. I have been thinking of rewriting them into seperate batch files and using NT/2000 login script under user manager. clutch 1 Posted February 21, 2001 Wow! That is a lot of settings! What are you controlling with all that info? I only use login scripts for drive mapping and SMS client installation (and some file updates on the local machines occasionally). I use poledit.exe (Policy Editor) for my lockdown functions. Native Win2K (AD in particular) has a far more powerful Group Policy funtion, but it doesn't look like you are AD just yet by your question. ------------------ Regards, clutch Share this post Link to post
ShaneK 0 Posted February 21, 2001 We have not implemented W2k fully yet, only on a select few servers, we have too many VB programs that are custom tailored to NT4. So no AD for a while. We have 20+ servers under one Domain supplying access to ~1800 employees in 16 different buildings. Each group is identified in the User Manager and KixTart sets the appropriate Drives and shortcuts in the start button and Desktop. I'm not going to get into the 10000+ students yet.
