p0rnflake 0 Posted February 20, 2001 I was wondering how well 2 100Mbit LAN's connected with each other through a 1000Mbit optic fibre cable, use the bandwitdh of the optic cable. If each LAN is connected to the optic cable via a switch that supports a 1000Mbit connection - will this solution be any better than by connecting the 2 LAN with STP cable ?? Guest Posted February 24, 2001 It will only be "better" if you have tons of traffic flowing between networks. If this is not the case, you won't notice too much of a difference. Or its probably better said that you won't notice an improvement which would warrant the massive amounts of money you would spend on the upgrade.
