strider 0 Posted March 27, 2000 File -> New -> Folder Use the following to create a browsable folder that works in the Start Menu or Toolbar: (Network and Dial-up Connections) String Name.{7007ACC7-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E} (Control Panel) String Name.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} I have both of these set as a toolbar on my taskbar. It's easier for me to quickly change settings. ------------------ -- Strider Hiryu Share this post Link to post
thibs 0 Posted March 27, 2000 Euh, but I think that those two items are already expandable in the start menu. This can be found in the start menu properties. What does this tweak add ? By default? It wasn't expandable when I installed Win2000. You'd normally have to go through Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel (or Network and Dial-up Connections) just to access them. It just makes accessing the Control Panel and Dial-up a little quicker. ------------------ -- Strider Hiryu Share this post Link to post
Dan 0 Posted March 27, 2000 I think what he was saying is that if you go into the Start Menu properties, you will find some checkboxes that do exactly what you just described without having to create the folders. Take a look. Hey, I didn't know either. Dan Share this post Link to post
Carver 0 Posted March 27, 2000 But you can add much more browseable folders to your startmenu. Just drag "My Computer" to the Start Menu, now it's expandable! You can create a shortcut to every folder on your Harddisk in the startmenu, and unlike to NT, W9x, its expandable! give it a try! ------------------ hope that helps Oliver have phun and surf.to/comic ----- PIII-450, 128RAM and W2k Prof. Final Version ----- Share this post Link to post
thibs 0 Posted March 28, 2000 DAN : Thanks that's what I meant, sorry to be unclear. The start menu properties in W2K are much more customizable than in W98 and any folder can be drag/drop and expand like Carver says. ------------------ Config: Dual celeron 400 on BP6 128 Mo SDRAM PC 100 Rage fury 32Mo, SB Live Player IBM 20Go U66,DVD A103S,Yamaha 4*4*16*: IDE Win2000 Final Share this post Link to post
