Turbo Grunkamoj 0 Posted November 28, 2000 Hi I was wondering if there is any difference in resources, performance and so on, depending on what you log on win2kpro as? If I log in with my administrator, and play games like quake2 and so on, is there any difference if I use another form of user, such as poweruser och normal user? Is there any such difference? clutch 1 Posted November 28, 2000 No, there shouldn't be a difference as far as clean installs go. However, when you install more things under the context of a given user, there will be a slight loss of system resources (instant messengers, sound card software, DVD software, download managers, etc.) So, if you login under a new user after 6 months of usage, it will "feel" snappier, and a good deal quicker due to the increase of available resources. ------------------ Regards, clutch Share this post Link to post

No. All the hardware work at the same level; however, IF settings are different between users (example: administrator has FULL hardware acceleration, while guest has 3 notches down) then yes, performance will be different. It's all about the settings. Share this post Link to post
ThC 129 0 Posted November 29, 2000 its best to have a gaming user set up as a poweruser to just play games on. Share this post Link to post
