CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted March 6, 2001 I have 512 kb of lvl 2 cache enabled in the bios of my mobo (Asus P2B-F) and i have it disabled in windows 2k. I have 256 megs of ram, and i was wondering if it was worth enabling L2 cache in windows. I have a P3 500. Thanx Share this post Link to post
Leon23 0 Posted March 6, 2001 Level 2 cache can speed things up very much. Read this article http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/cache It's about cache in general, level 2 cache is also reviewed. [This message has been edited by Leon23 (edited 06 March 2001).] Share this post Link to post
Dirty Harry 0 Posted March 6, 2001 Please fill me in: Why would you want to disable L2 in Windows 2k ? How (where) do you disable it in W2K ? H. Share this post Link to post

CrazyKillerMan 0 Posted March 6, 2001 well....win2k defaults to not using L2 cache...on my machine the amount of lvl 2 cache it was using is 0. Get x-setup 5.7 http://www.tweakfiles.com/allinone/xsetup.html and this shows im using 0 lvl 2 cache. Share this post Link to post
