Can't install Whistler 2257

Whistler 2257 hang during the hardware detection at 90%. The screen flicker black.

 

Whistler 2250 never had any probs.

 

Any suggestions?

Wow that's some EXPERT edvice. He knows his stuff. Just kiding smile. All most all have had more trouble with 2250 not 2257. Did you change the bios anyway or maybe added a new card? Something to look in to

ok..on a different note..

 

Try to remove all your ISA stuff and reset bios defaults and then install. It worked for me

Whistler is or will be better than Windows 2000, if you don't think so, get a reality check and hope it doesn't bounce.

Sorry jdulmage I couldnt help it. Anyway, I thought it was like this, if the detection hangs the computer and you restart the installation it checks the log and see where it stopped, skipping that part?

Try the follow:

Remove 3dfxvs2k.inf/3dfxvs2k.pnf from the \windows\inf directory.
