Recommended Posts

Windows whistler says that my second HD is not formatted so I can't access it but in windows 2000 it works fine. how is this possible? I don't want to format my HD because of all the data loss. mad

I have a dual boot system with windows 2000 pro and windows whistler personal build 2396.

P2 400; 128MB RAM; nVidia TNT2; 30GB HD(consists of 4 partitions); 8GB HD; ASUS P2b-F smile

is hard drive SCSI or IDE?

If it's SCSI, you may have to press F5 or F6 during the installation when asked to.

Somebody correct me, F5 or F6??

F6 to load drivers.

F5 in win2k lets you force a System type (ACPI, etc)

f5 in beta1 however seems to be the Automated System Recovery thing (which sucks compared to win2ks btw..)

I have thought about to backup my data to and format but the drive of which he says is not formatted is partitioned into 4 partitions. I think it is strange that he doesn't see that and think that formatting is not the answer to the problem. somebody thinks different about it? smile
