Guest Posted November 25, 2000 ... Havning to tell all those Win9x users who upgrade to Whistler how to use the OS. This forum will be overflowed with questions that have been asked a million times already. But hey... at least we're all on NT now right!? Share this post Link to post
jdulmage 0 Posted November 25, 2000 I agree, it's only gonna take a few more months it's going to be "how do I do this" and "why is the device manager different", etc, etc, etc.... It's going to suck Share this post Link to post

MSGuy 0 Posted November 25, 2000 You think your life is gonna suck. Think about us who do the technical support at Microsoft. Now THAT is gonna suck! Share this post Link to post
someone_nt 0 Posted November 25, 2000 We have ALL been newbies a long time ago. The best thing we can do is help newbies to become experts. And remeber, it is NOT you obligation to answer the questions posted in this forum. Just IGNORE these posts you don't like. PS: If there are SO MANY PREVIOUSLY ANSWERED QUESTIONS, create a FAQ, and post it in your site. Share this post Link to post
Gambler FEX online 0 Posted November 25, 2000 Now that is a good idea. As Whistler is out, create a FAQ with the most common questions. Sooner out the better, and post a link to it here regularly Share this post Link to post
Ancient 0 Posted November 25, 2000 In case of Whistler, i am a newbie too. I have one general question: has anyone had problems with drivers in beta-Whistler; are the drivers from w2k suitable for whistler? MSGuy: you really should read this regarding the SUCK thing http://www.bbspot.com/News/2000/10/ptsd.html Share this post Link to post
Down8 0 Posted November 26, 2000 I took the intiative and created a FAQ for Whistler: http://www.ntcompatible.com/faq3.shtml Now, everyone just needs to add to it. [Not that anyone ever reads FAQs anyway.] -bZj [This message has been edited by Down8 (edited 26 November 2000).] Share this post Link to post

beefchub 0 Posted November 27, 2000 I think folks upgrading from 9x will definately have quite a few questions once they enter the NT world, but we all must admit that Whistler is much more user friendly than 3.5 and 4.0.... I think the Personal version will work extremely well for home-users that have shared internet connections, and even though there might be some more traffic to the site, *hopefully* the built in help functions in whistler can answer most of these FAQ's Share this post Link to post
