Yes I did get Gamespy Arcade to run....but I still cant get Gamespy3d to run without pulling up a "MSVCRT.DLL for Win32 Error:MSVCRT.DLL is not compatible with Win32s." and then a "Could not initialize. System DLLs corrupt or missing. A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed" error. SHS did you do a clean install of Whistler or dual booting?

I don't know what Gamespy is, I guess it's a game or something. If it's game, you may be in luck, try right clicking on the file that executes the program, goto properities, check off "Run in emulation mode" and choose "Windows 95" from the dropdown box. Then give that a whirl.

It's not a game as such, but a game related tool anyway.. isnt that compatibility thing just a built in version of the win2k App Compat tool?

Well after messing with it for awhile I did get it to install. But once you goto run the program it comes up with a "Shrinker.Err..(3.3)C:Program Files\Gamespy\Gamespy.exe: Dispatcher initialisation error 12". And thats as far as I can get it. Gamespy Arcade does work.

curious, what is that Dispatcher initialisation error anyway? I've never seen it from win2k before, and now im getting it from a few things in whistler that worked fine in win2k. Exmaples are the self playing Diablo 2 expansion pack trailer, Web Position Gold, this gamespy thing obviously, and a few more i cant think of at the moment.

in short the API calls the programs made to the OS in Win2k are different in Whistler so it trys telling the OS 'hey i need this this and this here here and here' but the problem is that they arent in the same spots they were in win2k so the program crashes. Thats the elemantary preschool definition.

the company will probably need to put out a patch but who knows it might actually be fixed by the whistler team in someway. Too early to tell.

Pingtool might work, but it doesn't support the scripts that I use, like GS does ;(
