news 28 Posted January 8, 2016 Rounding out the roster of SCALE 14X keynote speakers, Ubuntu founder Mark Shuttleworth will give the Saturday morning SCALE 14X keynote on the topic of free software in the brave new world of the Internet of Things. From his speaker submission, Shuttleworth will talk about how Linux and the open-source paradigm fits into smaller devices and how, as a community, "we can bring the friendly and familiar Linux you use every day to the tiniest devices, so that the whole free software community can participate in this next wave of invention and revolution" Shuttleworth's keynote will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Pasadena Convention Center's Ballroom DE. He joins Cory Doctorow and Sarah Sharp as keynote speakers for SCALE 14X. Doctorow will speak on "No Matter Who's Winning the War on General Purpose Computing, You're Losing" at 9 a.m. Friday morning, Jan. 22 in Ballroom DE. Sharp will speak on "Improving Diversity with Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs" at 10 a.m. Sunday morning, Jan. 24, in Ballroom DE. SCALE 14X will take place from Jan. 21-24 at the Pasadena Convention Center.
