Ok i done the safemode trick and now i can login fine but does changing activation required also disable the timebomb?

No it doesnt. Thanks for your reply, but my computer doesn't try to acces the net when i turn it on (have i done something wrong), anyway, what i wanted to know was when you use a dial up connection, does your pc call microsoft with your information, could you just verify this point for me, thanx. red

Yes the svchost.exe file tries to send something to microsoft, you can see this if you have a firewall (although windows xp own firewall automatically allows this connection)

haha, it sends your hardware info once, and that's it, I am a tester, it does no more tha that. MS ain't trying to do crap..

 

as for the activaction, I don't know, I just had to laugh and post something

As for sending info once, I dont think so. Run Norton firewall for awhile and dont configure a rule just block connection at this time. You will soon find out that the OS is consistantly trying to send info.
